ON WONDERFUL ADVENTURES!********************
INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>My beard?
As you might know, I had not shaved for a year or more. Beth had never seen me with a clean shave, so I thought it was time to. But, I shaved just half off, as she could get used to it, slowly. If you know me, I sometimes do “Kit” stuff and have my fun. It’s funny, I spent two days with only half a beard, the right side was gone, and not many mentioned it. Perhaps they just thought I was a weirdo, but, I believe, not many people really look at someone. Do you?
Beth and I?
As you know, for a number of years I was living in my van and traveling all over the country; mainly going to national parks and wilderness areas. While in McCormick, South Carolina, I went to the library here to get online.I asked one of the librarians where I could plug in my computer and do some work. Beth showed me, as our eyes connected with interest.
I told her of my travels and she suggested that I could park on her lawn to spend the night. I said yes as our new friendship was growing.
She had just one more week at the library and then faced retirement. Great timing as we grew to like each other.
The bond was flourishing and cementing us together. We each had big smiles much of the time and were very happy.
We chose February 20 at 2:20 for the wedding (so the date is 2-20-2002 at 2:20—that’s a lot of twos.) Planning either to marry in a natural setting or our home in McCormick. We will have few guests, wish you could be here? Yes, we are accepting wedding gifts (I love toasters—not really.) We are at 801 Augusta St ext, McCormick, SC 29835.
I performed!
They were quite young, preschoolers, but loved my juggling and magic; as I loved performing for them. I do want to return to my entertaining and inspirational talks. My van is fixed.
It was a hard time not to have my home (my van) functioning correctly. But, a new battery and cables fixed all. Beth and I drove in her car when we needed. And, my traveling days as they were are in the past, as Beth and I will marry and live here together. Yes, we will be traveling together, too.Live life to the fullest.
Are you healthy?
Worries about COVID?
Keep yourself in top shape as you can. Eat right and exercise—now—as always, that is important. You have control, don’t depend on medicine or doctors, keep yourself above the healthy level you should be, you will be safe.To find love >>
Love is so elusive that it can seem like the quest to find it will never end. We know it exists, because, like me, others have it. But the path can be so murky that it’s tempting to give up the search. There are no surefire steps guaranteed to bring you love, but, it can be so lonely alone.
Look at me, hit by a truck, twice, once involving a 37-coma I went through. Two failed marriages were also in my past. I never imagined I would find Beth, we are so happy together.
Or, perhaps the ideas below can help you with a current relationship you are in?
I anticipate these ideas will help you >>
1—Understand what you have to offer. Love means sharing yourself with someone else who accepts you for who you are. Before you can expect someone else to accept you, though, you must know what “self” you are projecting. You might start by writing down the answers to these questions. Your answers will help paint a picture of the “you” you are offering to your potential partner.
• What are your best qualities?
• What do you like to do with your time?
• What do you love about yourself?
• What would you like to work on?
• What makes you feel uncomfortable?
2—Build confidence. Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert, a hilarious crowd-pleaser, or a very kind friend, be confident about what you have to offer someone else. That is more important than finding someone to please you.
When it comes to finding love, there is no right personality type, no special trait that will get you ahead. Contrary to what you might see in romantic comedies and sitcoms, everyone has a shot at love—not just the most popular or conventionally attractive among us. So know what you have, and own it.
3—Know what you’re looking for in someone else. Part of knowing yourself is knowing your relationship needs. Writing down what you consider to be the most important traits of your potential partner is a good way to figure out what you actually mean when you say you’re looking for love.
Try not to be too specific with this list of traits. For instance, instead of saying “six feet tall, brown hair, dark eyes,” focus on personality traits that matter to you. Do you want someone who’s honest to a fault? Someone who shares your passion for books?
It may also be helpful to write down a list of definite “no’s.” For example, you might not want a partner who travels six months out of the year or someone who doesn’t get along with your family.
Remember that the point here is not to craft a projection of your future partner; you’re just sketching out the basic qualities you’d enjoy having in a partner so you can understand your own needs better. Chances are, the person you end up loving will only have a few of the qualities on your list.
4-Try dating services? Using an online dating network is a great way to find out who is available in your area. However, don’t fall into the trap of being too picky, or judging everyone by their profile picture. If you want to find love, you’ll have to give people a chance! – the same chance you’d want them to give you.
Perhaps they are as lonely as you? Ask people on dates. When you’ve found someone who interests you and you’re ready to move from the “friend” stage to something deeper, try asking the person you’re interested in out on a date.
Also, try going with the classic date night: ask someone out to dinner. This will probably flatter your date and facilitate great conversation.
Don’t put too much pressure on the format of the date – just focus on having a good time. Joke around and make your date feel good – the goal is to have fun!
Think about whether you’d like to keep seeing this person. Does he or she seem to meet your most important needs? Is there a mutual attraction? If so, make plans to do something else together. If things keep going well, your relationship may take a deeper turn from here.
6—Don’t be too pushy. Remember that everyone is dealing with insecurities and personal issues, and sometimes signals just get mixed. Try not to take things too personally at this early stage.
These days, texting and other forms of messaging may be the simplest ways to communicate, but you’re less likely to give each other the wrong impression.
Find them – they are out there and waiting for you.

WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU! >>Inspirational quotes and motivational sayings have an amazing ability to change the way we feel about life and can change our thinking.
This is why I find them so interesting, challenging, and important on our path to joy and happiness and finding ways to inspire ourselves.
Inspirational quotes and ideas provide us with a quick and timely burst of wisdom to get our focus back, offering the inspiration needed for the day or occasion.
I hope to inspire you with my words.
Words have power.
At any age, you can (and should) make changes to make your life better. You see, the way you think and feel about yourself, including your beliefs and expectations about what is possible for you, determines everything that happens in your life. It all derives from your quality of thinking.
When you improve the quality of your thinking, you change the quality of your life—sometimes instantly!
Just as positive words can make someone smile, and/or, a well-timed amusing quote can make someone laugh, your own thoughts react to the world in real-time. You have this control!
In fact, you have complete control over only one thing in the universe — your thinking — and that’s where motivational quotes come in!
To keep your motivation, you have to use each day as an opportunity for improvement, to be better, to get a little bit closer to your goals. It might sound like a lot of work—and with your busy schedule—next to impossible. But you can do it!
Self-talk is so important—THINK RIGHT!
Motivational words, yes, they’re just words.
But they’re positive words; they will keep you on track.I hope the words I pick do help you.

BE INSPIRED BY THESE WORDS>>
From my book series, “Beyond Your Potential”The human brain is capable of storing more information than all the libraries in the world.
We know very little about the human brain that each of us has. One thing that still baffles science is how we are able to smell so many different things. Scientists know how we see and hear, but they are mystified about how tiny molecules inhaled from the air can be processed and identified by our brains and how the brain can file away those identifications indefinitely in memory.
Because of my brain injury, I am not able to smell things very well. I miss that.
The brain itself has no feeling. In fact, a surgeon can use a local anesthetic to open the skin for an operation, and from then on the patient will not feel what is going on and can remain awake.
Brain size varies between sexes and races, and, of course, between all people. The brain of an average white male is about 3 pounds.
Brain size doesn’t matter that much to your intelligence, one of the largest brains on record is that of an idiot. It is how we learn to use the brain that we have that makes the difference.
There are three main parts to your brain. They are the fore-brain, the mid-brain, and the hind-brain. Along with these main parts of your brain is your brain-stem. The brainstem extends out of the top of your spinal cord and is less than 3 inches in length.
Most of us know more about the way our lawnmower works than our own brain. Your brain controls everything that you think, dream, and do, along with taking care of your bodily functions.
The last few decades have seen fantastic growth in our knowledge of our brain. Imagine, in this space that is no larger than a grapefruit, are about between 10 billion and 100 billion neuron cells (no one knows exactly how many), communicating with each other. The neurons (or nerve cells) communicate with each other through electrical and chemical connections. A signal, from your finger, for example, manages to speed through the nervous system to eventually find the exact area of the brain designed to handle that signal.
Learn to use your brain right – it will add so much to your life!
WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS, YOU CAN OVERCOME ANYTHING.
At any age, you can make the change and aim your life anew.
Now, it’s time to get out there and do something incredible that you can rejoice in!********************

MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>The reason I have not gone many places to write you about is that. my van was in need of repair. The battery and cables were not functioning right and the van would run out of juice. Now that it is fixed we will be traveling more. But, we have been tooling around in Beth’s vehicle.
9/24—Today I shaved my beard, which has been growing for some months, as you know. It was the longest I have had facial hair. So, I was shaving it off, when I got halfway I changed my mind. You will see photos.
I’ve done this before some years ago, having half a beard. It’s funny, people seldom look other people in the face; hardly anyone even mentioned anything about my half-beard. Of course, I was just doing more Kit-fun, I don’t care what anyone thinks about me.
How about you, would you do such a thing. Although, this might be difficult for you ladies.
I would love to hear from you!

INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>Work on our house continues and is turning out quite nice. Remember, your home is not just somewhere you eat and sleep. This is your life, you spend so much time there, why not make it a place of excellence? Don’t get (or stay) lazy and just live with how things “are”. Make changes toward quality how you can, starting today!
The cost can be minimal, some of the wood I used for the building was reused from an old broken down shed next door, a run-down dilapidated house. It shows you that you can do improvements for little money.
After traveling the country while living in my van and writing a weekly blog, as you know, I have settled (joyfully) down with Beth and we are having a wonderful life together.
Also, I’ve decided to return to my inspirational speaking and motivating. Have you seen >> kitsummers.com/motivating-audiences ?

BE INSPIRED BY THESE WORDS>>
From my book series, “Beyond Your Potential.”A GOOD LIFE EXISTS WHERE YOU FOCUS.
You have to be alert for any opportunities that may help in your endeavors and that may speed your progress. Utilize this information to take a different path when necessary to arrive at your destination sooner.
Once you see the changes that are bound to happen, you must learn to adapt. Be diligent and be on the lookout for even better ways of doing things, because there are better ways to do virtually anything.
THIS IS WELL WORTH ANY WORK IT MIGHT TAKE.
After my first accident and 37-day coma, I learned that each year over two million people on Earth suffer a brain injury. Modern medical practices have led to the saving of more people suffering severe head trauma.
Statistics show that there is only a five percent mortality rate through brain injury. Of the ninety-five percent who survive, many will have multiple and permanent physical, cognitive, or emotional impairments that may require intensive rehabilitation.
With all the wars going on, more military people are returning with brain injuries. For them, life has changed, life is a challenge. Through this book, I want to show you that there is hope for your future.
Working on my juggling before I could walk again.
One of my goals is to help other victims of traumatic brain injury, as well as their family and their friends. Those who are close to a brain trauma victim must accept the probability of physical or mental disability in the person for years, possibly for life.
This acceptance leads to a more constructive and supportive attitude toward the victim. All brain injuries are different, and, with many other factors involved, you can never know what the future will hold for that person, but it does not have to be the end of the story.
Through support and understanding, wonders can happen.
No life is without traumas. Eventually, we must all confront events that test our limits. The key is to use these changes in a positive way toward our future.
YES, IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU.
We tend to see ourselves as invulnerable and can take life for granted. I never dreamed that I would be hit by a truck, let alone twice. And, I never imagined I would spend a month of my life in jail; I had to spend a month in jail on a false charge. You never know what will happen at any moment of your life that can change it forever.
WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS, YOU CAN OVERCOME ANYTHING.
At any age, you can make the change and aim your life anew.
Now, it’s time to get out there and do

INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>Did not get out to any Wilderness this week—I miss the forest, the mountains, and the ocean.
This week I focused more on house improvements. There is so much that can be done to improve, for little money. It makes me sad when I see a depressive-looking house that could be improved and upgraded for little money, Many people simply settle into their homes and do nothing to improve.
In my redesigning of the kitchen, I found a long board for free, painted it yellow,
and put it up for Beth’s nick-nacks.
Please let me know what you think.********************

Too many of us are “not” living our dreams because we are centered on living with and in our fears. Or, sometimes, we are fearful of finding the success of our dreams. If you have dreams that feel just out of reach because fear keeps you from pursuing them, you are not alone. Many of us take caution to limit our aspirations and potential. Take that extra step and get going toward what you desire.
Instead of going after what we really want, we let the dire whispers of failure hold us back. But that nagging question — “What happens if I don’t make it?” and, “What if I do make a success?” — is not as scary as another question: “What happens if I don’t try?”
The best is to break your plan into steps and start at the start. It may seem like something too huge at first, but get going and you can accomplish wonders!
At any age, you can make the change and aim your life anew.
Now, it’s time to get out there and do
something incredible that you can rejoice in!********************

This week pick another room in your house. Take a day to remove everything. Clean and paint where necessary; make it look like a new room.
As you are bringing things back into the room, ask yourself—
“Have I used this in the last month?”
“Do I really need this?”
“Is there someone else who could use it?”

INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>This week—Not much has happened this week. But, as I have done so many weeks over the years, I have to get words to you I hope that inspire you. Am I meeting the mark?
Our Home—As I wrote before, everyone and anyone can improve their home. I’ve taken to ask of improving every room otf the home of Beth and I. As you can see from the photos, Things are Turning out quite nice.
Aiming toward something like this for the house.
The above house is located in Los Gatos, California
You could do this with your house, too.
You can find out more about this beautiful house here >>But, you could do this to your home, too
Your Home—Does your home need improvement? It’s really not hard to do, and the cost is quite low. You can go to YouTube with any questions about the work you’re doing. It’s amazing we can find there to help you do what you need to do.
Hummingbirds—It’s that time of year. I bought two feeds with seven stations each. It’s funny, though, one stops to feed and if another approaches, the hummy chases him off. There is never more than one at a time, when there are seven places to feed.
We saw this, too.
A wonderful butterfly. You?—There are some who just stay to chase others off, it seems. I know some humans who do that. They find something good then constantly chase away others. I hope you are not of this ilk.
Us—Beth and I have grown close. I wanted you to be the first to know – We will wed next year! Yes, we could just live together, but we are aiming for more commitment than that. I will let you know more later.

1. “Everyday is not a good day, but there is good in every day.”
This is my favorite quote. We all have bad days, and we can make the day worse by our own attitude. If we reflect on this saying, it will help change our attitude and our bad day may not seem so bad after all.2. “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
At times, we may not do something for someone because we think it is not enough; however, this quote by Aesop is one that reminds us that every small deed do make a difference. It also reminds me of the quote by Anne Frank, “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Helping others is a true act of kindness.3. “You get what you give.”
These words are short and simple but carry a lot of wisdom in them. I believe that what you give comes back to you, always.4. “Focus, focus, focus.”
It is so easy to lose our focus; there are many things that can distract us from achieving our goals. So often, I say these three words to remind myself of my goals and to do the things that I need to do.5. “Persistence prevails when all else fails.”
This saying is one I refer to on a regular basis. Each year, when I reflect on the thousand of quotes I have read, this one never tires. It is one that motivates me to keep going – to demonstrate persistence.6. “It is wise to direct your anger towards problems – not people; to focus your energies on answers – not excuses.”
Wisdom said by William Arthur Ward and are great to reflect on when you feel anger or are upset. You can come up with a million excuses but it truly is a waste of time and energy; look for the resolution not for an excuse.7. “The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.”
No matter what goals you are trying to achieve you have to visualize your success, be determined and go after your dream. You don’t let any obstacles stop you; they may slow you down, but they don’t stop you.8. “Every life is a story, make yours a best seller.”
This saying is on a magnet that I have on my fridge. It is one that I have shared with many. It is one that inspires me every time I read it. It also reminds me of the quote by Harald Anderson, In life we can have results or reasons. Does your life have results or does it have reasons?9. “No matter what accomplishments you make, somebody helped you.”
We all have had help from someone in our accomplishments in life. The wisdom said by Althea Gibson encouraged me to help others just like others have helped me.10. “May there be a miracle in your life TODAY and may you have the EYES to see it.”
Miracles happen every day but sometimes we are blind and don’t realize that they are even occurring. At any age, you can make the change and aim your life anew.
Now, it’s time to get out there and do
something incredible that you can rejoice in!********************
MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>Every this week was spent working on improving the house. As I’ve written before, why just “live” in a house, when, for little cost and not too much time put in, you can live in excellence.
