OPENING WORDS

Writing this blog keeps me going. With so many significant changes occurring in my life, writing this blog helps me stay centered and in control. Did you know? I also published 15 books to help people.

This week was kind of bland; not much occurred. I’m still not sure if I like it here. If I wanted to leave, I don’t know what I would do. Am I stuck here? I’d say no, the staff here is excellent and helps me a lot.

WELCOME THE PRESENT MOMENT- EVERY SINGLE INSTANT!

BLOG 335–ARE YOU ALRIGHT?

Someone says, “So Kit, how are you?”
My response to this question,
I say, right away,
“Yes I am.”
And that is all.

Usually, people ask this question because it is so common and easy.
They don’t take the time to think of something else to say.
Whenever you speak, consider your words, ensure they are accurate, and that they will add to the conversation.

People often say “How are you?” as a standard greeting or a social lubricant, rather than expecting a detailed account of one’s physical and mental state. It’s a way to acknowledge someone’s presence and initiate a friendly interaction.

While some may genuinely be curious, the response “Fine, thank you, and you?” is a typical and expected way to acknowledge the greeting without getting into lengthy details. You don’t have to be like everyone else; you must find your way. I never respond to this question.

For me, this question is just a waste of time.

There are so many other things to say to start a conversation. It’s best to say something nice about the other person — enthusiastically! This will provide a better starting point for a talk or connection.  The following are also starters >>
Are you OK? What’s new with you?
So, what do you like to talk about?
It’s been a while! What’s changed in your life?
Get away from the common, “How are you?”

I am reminded of something that bothers me about the English language: the letter W and the number 7. It goes u, then v, then w. Every other letter is one syllable. The letter looks like two u’s or two v’s, so it is pronounced “double you”. It seems ridiculous that a different sound wasn’t used, like calling it wa or something.

That leads us to the number seven, of the first 10 numbers, which is the only one with two syllables. It could have been called “Sev” or something. Did these people not think? No way to change it now, or is there? If we all make enough noise, perhaps we could bring about a change.

How are you?” has become a kind of ritualized greeting. It’s a longer, more detailed way of saying hello. Not only are you saying hi, but you’re also being a little more friendly and asking how they are. But, most of the time, people don’t mean it when they ask this “question.”

Every time you open your mouth–think–and don’t say something stupid!

Expressions like “How are you?” or “What’s up?” are called “phatic expressions.” “Phatic” means that it is intended to promote rapport and social cohesion rather than as an actual exchange of information. Most of the time, it seems, people don’t mean it when they ask.

They don’t care how you are doing; they just want some response from you. Just respond by saying “hey, what’s up?” or, like me, say, “Yes I am.” Be different, find a better way! It makes no sense. Socializing is essentially narrating and commenting on everything that is going on, much like broadcasters during a sports game. It is a game.

A common and straightforward way to respond to “How are you?” is “I’m fine, thank you. How are you?” or “I’m good, thanks. How about you?”. You can also use variations like “I’m doing well” or “I’m okay”. More casual responses include “Not bad” or “Can’t complain”. All of which are a waste of words.

A standard and straightforward reply to “How are you doing?” is “I’m doing well, thanks. How about you?” You can also say “I’m fine,” “I’m good,” or “I’m okay,” and then ask how they are. For a more enthusiastic response, you could say “I’m doing great!” or “I’m fantastic!” If you’re not feeling great, you can be honest and say “I’m not doing so well,” or “I’ve been better,” and then explain if you’d like to.

Some simple answers to the question, How are you? >>
Simply say, “Yes I am.”
“How do you want me to be?”
“I’d be better if you were with me.”
“Extremely good looking, I’d say!”
“Getting better every time you talk to me.”
“Do you even care?”

If only I had a cheat code or a brain implant that would automatically make me say witty, funny, clever, insightful or cute things that others would “enjoy” hearing or deem to be the “appropriate” thing to say, then life would be a breeze.

Unfortunately, due to many complications such as anxiety, sadness, depression, and fatigue, we often have to force ourselves to give a shit about even interacting with others. Be happy with yourself, that is often all we have. But remember, I am here for you.

ALL YOU HAVE IS NOW!
MAKE THINGS FANTASTIC!

WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU!
Inspirational quotes and sayings have a unique ability to change the way we feel about life and can change our thoughts. They are attractive, challenging, and essential on our path to joy and happiness, as well as finding ways to inspire ourselves and others.

READ
Reading through the quotes below about life can do the trick if you’re looking for a pick-me-up or a healthy dose of motivation. Whether centered around positive affirmations, self-care, or success, life quotes can be powerful inspirational tools.

THE BURST!
Inspirational quotes and ideas provide a quick and timely burst of wisdom to help us regain our focus, offering the inspiration needed for the day or occasion. I hope the words below bring a smile to your face and drive you to make this day and every day a fantastic event.

BE POSITIVE!
Just as positive words can make someone smile, and a well-timed, amusing quote can make someone laugh, your thoughts react to real life. Have this control! You have complete control over only one thing in the universe—YOUR THINKING!—and that’s where motivational quotes come in!

“YOU”
Your quality of thinking and how you think and feel about yourself, including your beliefs and expectations about what is possible, determine everything in your life. Use quotes to move ahead in your life.

SELF-TALK IS SO ESSENTIAL—THINK RIGHT!
To stay motivated, use each day as an opportunity to improve and move closer to your goals. It might sound like a lot of work, and it’s next to impossible with your busy schedule. But you can do it! Motivational words, yes, are just words. But they are positive words; they will keep you on track.

QUOTES
Motivational quotes impact our brain, behavior, and lives because they make us feel like we are in control of our success and have a sense of self-efficacy. Quotes make us believe that we have the confidence to complete a task successfully, which is different from having the motivation to succeed.

QUOTES WILL BENEFIT YOU!
Positive and inspiring quotes can be like sunshine on a cloudy day. They inject optimism into our thoughts, brighten our mood, and help us focus on the good in life. They remind us that even in the face of adversity, we can see the silver lining and embrace a positive attitude.

PEARLS OF WISDOM
In a world filled with challenges and indecisiveness, the power of inspirational quotes cannot be exaggerated. These pearls of wisdom uniquely uplift our spirits, can spark positive change, and fuel our motivation when we need it most.

WORDS WILL CHANGE YOU!
The correct motivational quote can transform you and your perspective, helping you overcome excuses, step out of your comfort zone, and take action. Read these words with an open mind and learn to improve your life.

THESE QUOTES
When you read these quotes, you’ll also realize that many other people worldwide are experiencing these feelings. These feelings make you think you’re the only person who could feel this bad. But you’re not. Many other people also feel bad. This is the irony of it. You don’t want other people to feel crappy, but it does make you feel better, or at least comforted to know that other people feel just as bad as you.

READ CAREFULLY
These quotes can be used when you wake up or prepare for work.
You can write your favorite quotes somewhere where you can see them as soon as you wake up.
These quotes are motivating, inspiring, and encouraging.
They will help you see your potential, stay motivated, and see the beauty in every morning.
Use them to your advantage!

I HOPE THE FOLLOWING WORDS
INSPIRE YOU AND ADD TO YOUR LIFE >>

“If you ever start feeling like you have the goofiest, craziest, most dysfunctional family in the world, all you have to do is go to a state fair. Because five minutes at the fair, you’ll be going, ‘you know, we’re alright. We are dang near royalty.”
― Jeff Foxworthy

“You don’t have to get ready if you stay ready, alright?
I’m always in the gym, constantly training, all the time.”
― Donald Cerrone

“I was on some TV shows with Lady Gaga the other week, and you could see the difference in reaction between her fans and my fans outside. She comes out, and she looks like a star, and the reaction is just tears, crying, people going, ‘Oh my God, Oh my God.”
― Ed Sheeran

“One of the great things to pretend is that you’re not only alright, you’re in great shape. Now to have that come true – I’ve gone on stage depressed and that’s worked its magic on me, ’cause if I can convince you that I’m alright, then maybe I can convince me.”
― Carrie Fisher

“Fool is Alright”
― Bruce Springsteen

“You ain’t a beauty,
but hey, you’re alright.”

Believe that everything is gonna be alright!”

“Stayed on, and became the Cymri.
What if we’re all Jews, you see?
All scattered like seeds?
Still flying outward from the primal fist so long ago.
Man, I believe that.”
― Thomas Pyncho

MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>
Each week goes by so quickly.
It seems that time is passing more quickly.      I took this photo in my travels>
You must live joyfully, daily, for each day!

Do you know what you did last Monday?
Do you remember what you ate for dinner last Thursday?
Keep track of your doings for a few weeks; you will see your time differently.
Remember, the quality of your life depends on what you do each day, in every moment.

7/26–Very Sunny and pleasant out now. I want to go out on the field and do some running, but that is not allowed. I must do something about that. I will let you know more later.

7/27–Nice to be able always to leave the seat up (except for specific times).
All my life, I have lived with or around females.
My mom taught me always to put the seat down after I pee, and I have.

Today, I am feeling very much like I am in jail here. I need to find a way to escape.

7/28–I guess I am lonely. I awoke from a dream where I was joking with a lady, and love danced between us. I don’t see any way I could meet someone while here at the brain injury rehab. That makes me sad.

Today I made a batch of my chocolate chip cookies.
Everyone loved them, as you will too.
Make some, it’s time >>

Kit’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Mix:
4 sticks of butter, melted in a microwave
4 eggs, yolks broken up with a fork
1/4 cup Kalua
1/4 cup vanilla
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 tablespoon of salt

Then, in a different bow, MIX:
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
5  cups of flour

Then mix the two bowls together.
Add 4 cups of chocolate chips
Bake at 325 for 16 minutes

7/29–Most of my life, I have lived with someone. Waking up and having someone next to me, I like that. Sometimes I awaken and expect someone to be there, but they aren’t. So that makes me quite lonely and sad. I know this is not long-term, but it feels like it is.

Today I am feeling very strange about living at this place. It seems that everyone here has something a little off. I have been wondering what my “Little bit off” might be. The brain injury clinic/hospital is full of interesting folk. I’m not sure if I like being here.

A driver took me to Best Buy today to discuss my computer. It still is not fixed. Things are set up incorrectly, and the guy I talked to simply said, “We aren’t trained in that.” What a stupid thing to say. So, what are they trained in?

7/30–Had a meeting with a therapist and six brain-injured individuals. These are people I have been with before. They seem to need more help than I do, yet I recall going through what they’re experiencing now. The meeting today felt like babysitting, which isn’t good for me.

Someone started crying because he couldn’t write any notes. I remember going through the same thing; it hurt a lot. I wanted to help, but I wasn’t sure how. A brain injury causes many losses. Things I could do before I can no longer do, like juggling.

I just went through an hour of physical therapy. This is something that I genuinely need. Just standing on one foot gave me a lot of trouble. We also practiced walking in line, with my heel touching the toe of the other foot. This is also something I struggled with.

The therapist could do both of these tasks with no problem whatsoever. So she is helping me to retrain my muscles to balance once again. I need this therapy, I was looking to help me improve as we are doing. This should also help with my unicycling.

7/31–I’m looking for quiet stability in a relationship. Could you be the one? I do like to be in a relationship, are you, her? Can you hear my screaming? Life is much better when you are with someone. For the females I have been with, I am sorry that things did not work out between us.

8/1–Every week, there is a cleaning person who comes through each apartment and cleans thoroughly. I usually keep everything clean, but she found some things to take care of. What a nice thing to have.

MAKE THIS DAY GREAT FOR YOU!
THEN, KEEP DOING NEW (DAILY) FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

THE GARDEN THIS WEEK
I keep this section on gardening.
I do like the skill and hope you do, too.

Winter is here now.
But there are still things you can grow.
And remember about indoor gardening.

A self-supporting life can be a better life.
A garden would be a part of that life.
You must look into it!

Because I am back on the road.
There will be no more words about the garden.
I do hope Beth keeps it up.
We put a lot of effort into establishing our vegetable garden.

START YOUR GARDEN TODAY!
IT MAY BE NECESSARY FOR YOUR LIFE!

******************
ALL OUR LIVES, WE MUST CHALLENGE OURSELVES!
YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK >>
Do not say, “How are you?” anytime this week.
Start thinking of different, better things to say.
Then continue with this new skill.
