    INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>
This COVID virus—YIKES – typing this while I drink my “Corona” beer.

I was out and saw people who were wearing their “masks” while riding their bikes in the open air. This is scary to me and I will not participate. If I feel sick or sneezing I will just stay away from people. I hope this is not a new human habit that people feel they must follow; wearing a mask. I like the freedom of the open air. I hate the current restrictions, terrible theyare.

Yes, in Boulder now, I came to Boulder to be at the Boulder Circus Center to be able to get online and charge my devices. Thank you, Cindy, for letting me be here. Here is BCC >> http://bouldercircuscenter.net/

Boulder is the most bicycle-friendly city I know of, are we riding as much as I can, unicycle, too. The weather will be like getting nicer and nicer, so biking will be nice.

    WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU! >>

Inspirational quotes and motivational sayings have an amazing ability to change the way we feel about life and can change your thinking. This is why I find them so interesting and important on our paths to happiness. So what’s the secret of great quotes?

You see, the way you think and feel about yourself, including your beliefs and expectations about what is possible for you, determines everything that happens in your life. It all derives from your quality of thinking.

When you change the quality of your thinking, you change the quality of your life, sometimes instantly. Just as positive words can make someone smile, and/or, a well-timed humorous quote can make someone laugh, our thoughts react to the world in real-time. Think right—always.

You have complete control over only one thing in the universe — your thinking – and that’s where motivational quotes come in! Self-talk is so important—THINK RIGHT!

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>
4/24—A friend of mine, John Hammink, who I met through Facebook and lived in Mountain View, California, contacted me and said he moved to Colorado. So, I drove up to Lyons to see him.

Look here to learn about John (I was quite surprised and impressed.)
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hammink

And, when did wonderful little town Lyons is.

4/25This morning, I took my bike and unicycle off the back, I cleaned them thoroughly and then put them back. A constant process, I cleaned other parts of the van, too. A great start to the day.

4/26Met John’s landlord, Orion Molfese, who lives in the house in front, an interesting chap. He has many skills, such as he built his own home (a nice place.) I have ideas to make his home even nicer and want to help organize what he does have, we will see.

Also, we all went to visit Robbie Jack, who developed a game app, sold it, and brought in MUCH money. He lives the lifestyle that “he” wants, great to see. We played an assortment of games, quite fun.

4/27I had a package delivered to my friend Peter Davison’s house, who is near Boulder. Good to see Peter, but like all of this, age is showing up on your skin and body.

In your life, Peter, you took the skill of juggling and brought it to the limit—one of the best in the world you are. Then, as an after-birth, you took the skill of ballet dance to the extreme. Peter lives about 30 miles from Boulder, he comes to see his dad who lives in Boulder.

    Here is Peter >>
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPrtlt5WpRs

So, I was in Boulder again, yes, another city (you know how I like cities.) I was going to head out to Rocky mountain national park for the night. But, I saw a smaller park on the way. Such a splendid Park it is. It will be very quiet and dark, how I like it.

At this park have been many pretty girls walking by, great to see. Sorry, no photos.

Earlier today I took everything out of the van and clean the woodwork and the windows. seems that my fire-stove has left smoke coloring and on the inside. So, I will be giving more of a cleaning later, and limit fires in the van.

And today I went to another food bank. They gave me enough food for an army—an army of Kit.

The knee on my jeans ripped. People pay extra to have ripped knees. I don’t like it, I will be getting rid of rid of the jeans.

I wanted to let you know, I do brush my teeth every night, like a good boy.

I drove to Rocky Mountain National Park, I knew it was closed, but like to see the area with where the town of Estes Park is.

I actually drove up to the park entrance, which was gated. So, I went back to Estes Park, I found Estes lake!
I found no sign saying, “No overnight parking”, so, I was there for the night.

Cindy and I on our long hike.

4/28Had a great sleep at the lake, no one came by no one bothered me.
Got a little cold, but they have enough coverings to keep me warm through the night.

4/29-30Spent time at Boulder circus center alone here, except for a couple who people who take care of the building. Of course, there are no classes were going on.

I did work around the building to improve the place, and much weeding to help clear the grounds and make it look nice. I also did work on the van, I got new window coverings that I had to cut to fit, much better now.

5/1Planning to go on a bike ride at 11 this morning with Cindy. I will let you know how it goes later.
Did you know Cindy is a great juggler? Watch this >>

Cindy and I just got back from a five-mile hike at Betasso Preserve. A little known place, I believe, I was a great area. There were many mountain bikers up there concurring the trail; a hard ride. It was a fun hike, yet, my feet hurt.

    INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>
Driving on small roads off the beaten path in New Mexico, I saw a dirt road going off to—who knows where—of course, that was the direction I took. Drove a couple of miles, where no humans are, I saw some cows out in the land and saw some terrific areas.

As you would know, I love to go to places where not many go. Of course, I am writing to you right now using a pen and paper, to go onto the computer later.

What is surprising to me is that GPS is tracking me on these dirt roads, most are covered. Then I pulled off and parked for a time on a turn-off, where I drank a beer, then continued my trek with a smile on my face.

Then on to Castle Rock Overlook, with no one around, this is where I will spend the night.

Here is Castle Rock, have a view >>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oe3mgriVvY
I just have to reiterate, get out to the wilderness how you can, it will add so much to your life.

    WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU! >>
The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanely sensitive. To them… a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create — so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, their very breath is cut off… They must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency they are not really alive unless they are creating.” – Pearl Buck

F@*# self-doubt. I despise it. I hold it in contempt, along with the hell-spawned ooze-pit of Resistance from which it crawled. I will NEVER back off. I will NEVER give the work anything less than 100%. If I go down in flames, so be it. I’ll be back.” -Steven Pressfield

Creativity comes from trust. Trust your instincts. And never hope more than you work.” -Rita Mae Brown

Institutions will try to preserve the problem to which they are the solution”—Clay Shirky

I am not afraid…I was born to do this.” – Joan of Arc

If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.” ~Antoine De Saint Exupery

It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but even more to stand up to your friends.” – J. K. Rowling

Do not be critics, you people, I beg you. I was a critic and I wish I could take it all back because it came from a smelly and ignorant place in me, and spoke with a voice that was all rage and envy. Do not dismiss a book until you have written one, and do not dismiss a movie until you have made one, and do not dismiss a person until you have met them. It is a f@*$%load of work to be open-minded and generous and understanding and forgiving and accepting, but Christ, that is what matters. What matters is saying yes.” – Dave Eggers

Adversity is just change that we haven’t adapted ourselves to yet.” -Aimee Mullins

The secret of life…is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.” – Paulo Coelho, from The Alchemist

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” – Helen Keller

Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get — only what you are expecting to give — which is everything. What you will receive in return varies. But it really has no connection with what you give. You give because you love and cannot help giving.” – Katharine Hepburn

Far better to live your own path imperfectly than to live another’s perfectly.” -Bhagavad Gita

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>
4/17—I went to Costco and could not believe what I saw. Each cashier has a plexiglass shield to hide behind so they could not breathe air of the customer.

These were put on as permanent. I hate this life in this new world! It makes me not want to live anymore, but I will so I can write words to you.

I went to Costco to fill up on gas, and to buy some salad mix. I miss their old days with the free samples where I could make a meal of it. Now I never will experience that again, sad to say.

This is a new and different life we’re living in now. I don’t think I like it, the world could always be made better, but this is Draconian. Who could like this new life on Earth with his worldwide change? I certainly don’t.

I’m seeing so many people wearing a face mask. Most do not even know this doesn’t really help much. I will never wear a mask; I don’t live my life in fear. I refuse to wear a MASK. In fact, I will die instead of wearing a mask.

I have no fear of death, in fact, at times I welcome the idea of the long sleep. But, for now, I have to be here to write these words for you, hoping that these words do inspire you and help you live a better life (is it helping?)

Along with the mask, people are much more unfriendly, although, so many people are naturally unfriendly anyway – a sad thing – they will not look me in the eye it will not smile they will not communicate.  These people hide behind their mask and are in their own little world. I hope you are not of this sort. It’s like non-humans are roaming the Earth – – HELP ME!

So right now I’m in the City of Albuquerque. Going to see someone about my bike tomorrow, a guy who helps to repair bicycles.

Earlier, I was at Walmart. Too noisy to stay around there, so, as I often do, on GPS I looked for a local park. I found one, very quiet here, I should sleep well tonight; as I hope you do, too.

4/18Went to a Walmart this morning, which now opens at 6 a.m. instead of being open 24 hours. I saw a line of trained humans who were ten feet apart waiting to enter the store. It made me laugh.

On the floor in Walmart, they had arrows pointing the direction people need to take when they walk.
I hate this new “training” of people.

4-19Found a wonderful place to camp for the night. It’s incredible right on the wonderful canyon with rock outcroppings and as you see from the pictures how nice it is. I’m back to what I love in life.

I’m concerned about my burnt foot that I spilled boiling water on. This happened about two weeks ago and doesn’t seem to be getting better. Last week, my ankle bone started hurting, and then just a few days ago, my lower leg and knee starting to hurt, which is strange because the injury is down at my foot. Yes, I’m running scared. Yikes.

Driving today, I went through snowfall as I moved into Colorado, what a pleasant surprise. I was going through Angel Peak Scenic Area. Watch this about this wonderful area >>
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-Rqy9X1zCc

As I went through Wolf Creek Pass, I was way up there, 3308.9088 meters (10,856 feet.) Driving this road, US Hwy 160, was spectacular.

4/20—I saw that I would be driving through Salida in Colorado, I remembered my juggling friend, Joe Lobeck, who lives in Salida. Here is Joe, enjoy >>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7TukvCQgE4

Staying a few days with Joe, his girlfriend, his sister, and his mom at his mom’s house, what a truly wonderful visit.

4/21—Staying with Joe and his family for a few days, we are having a fantastic time together. Today, while Joe was juggling at Riverside Park in Salida. I taught him some new moves and helped him to improve what he currently does. As you might know, I cannot juggle as I used to, and can’t do many of the tricks, but my knowledge of juggling is sharp, as well as how I can help others advance.

4/22—Time to head off from Salida today. Still heading north. Joe, Joan, Lexee, and Jenny, thank you so much for the great stay.

Here is Joe and I sharing a 3 club juggling pattern.

Today my drive will take me more toward Boulder, yes, here I am again.

4/20—Parked outside a McDonald’s on their wifi this morning. Near to Denver now, I really don’t like big cities.

    INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>

Not traveling this week much at all. Before this shutdown, I had contacted my friend, Cheeta, about returning to stay with her for a bit; thanks so much for letting me stay with you for a week. Yet, I do not want to overstay my welcome, so I will be departing tomorrow, Friday, heading toward the north.

Cheeta and I first met back in the 1970s in Balboa Park, San Diego. We dated for a time and had a good connection. I looked her up on Facebook a couple of years ago; I’m glad we reconnected.

I’m wondering what the leftover after-effects will be from this current pandemic we are going through. The world has changed, much. For me, I think this is the biggest change humans on earth have ever gone through.

Of course, I hope you are alright in your life.

    Please let me know.

They say you should shelter in place? Well, I am, in my van. It’s strange not to have a home base. I don’t know where I am heading, but I will get there.

You might remember about how I spilled boiling water on my right foot and caused it to blister? Well, it got so painful and strange that I went into a hospital and had them look at it; this was five days after the accident. I had it covered most of the time and was told to leave it open more often. It is still bothering me, but healing.
    *****************************
    WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU! >>

From my book series, “Beyond Your Potential”

    The Pain

In one practice session, I was working on juggling four tennis rackets, something I used to do with no problem. I would throw them up, but my hands were not fast enough so I would drop, but I kept trying. I was so persistent in everything and would not give up with anything that I did. I was getting frustrated because I wanted so much to be back to where I was in my juggling before the accident. Th en, as I was throwing the four rackets in the air, one came down and hit me on the head right in the place where the scar from my brain surgery is. Th is was a sensitive area and hurt very much. I wasn’t sure if it was the pain, or the reminder of the accident, facing the life change or my frustration—but I started to cry—much. The loss and frustration were so big in my mind.

    Nothing to Prove

I saw at that point that I didn’t have to get back to where I was in my juggling. I had accomplished excellence in juggling before and I didn’t have to prove to anyone, especially myself that I could juggle again. I knew that I could positively affect the course of my life after I had the accident by going a different direction. I knew it was up to me. It is never too late to affect your life. It may be the most noteworthy thing we ever do as we move forward through life. We change the way things are, and/or things change us. We must get used to change. Of course, there are exceptions to almost every rule (except that rule?). You must go forward with finesse to a better future.

    *****************************

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>

4/12-17—Staying with Cheeta for I don’t know how long. The world has gone crazy and I don’t know where to go that would be safe.

4/16—I had time, of course, so I painted the running-boards (you should have seen me run on them!) on the van. You can see from the photos how they turned out, like a new van (well, in my dreams, anyway.)

4/17—I will be moving forward toward the north today. If you are anywhere between Roswell, NM, and Boulder, Colorado I’d love to visit—let me know.

    ****************************

MY CHALLENGE FOR YOU THIS WEEK >>

One I’ve written of before. Right now there are many people in the world who are scared and do not know what to do. Seek out these people, comfort them, and let them know a future that will be much much better.

    **************************

Heading toward Boulder, Colorado next. Do you live in Boulder, or anywhere along the route I will be taking from Roswell, New Mexico? I would love to slop by for a visit, let me know.

But, not sure where I will end up. There is a chance I may not post my blog next week.

    INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>
As you know, last week’s blog was sent on Sat instead of Fri, I heard from my dear friend, Liisa Pyke, asking if I was alright, since she did not see my blog. Thanks for your caring and concern, Liisa, so good of you.

I was thinking about heading East toward the gulf and New Orleans, but, because of the Corona drama in Eastern Texas, I won’t. I’ve already been on that route, anyway, and really my heart desires the West. So, I switched direction and now heading back to Big Bend National Park.

I love it at Big Bend. But, good thing I have Google on my phone. I looked it up and Big Bend Park is closed. And I really like it there. Well, next time.

So, after that, I decided I will go back to New Mexico to see my dear friend Cheeta. Then, perhaps back to the parks in Utah. I could never get enough are those parks in that state.

When heading out earlier I stopped at a McDonald’s to work on the blog, I can still hook in and use their WiFi. There are still serving food through their drive-through, but, not one person came through and no one parked there. An employee actually came out and told me I had to leave. This world is getting so strange.

A fun drive today across Texas. Mostly flat with many cows, as you’ll see from the photos. I’m heading back to New Mexico, but first, I want to go back to Big Bend National Park, hopefully, it’s open. You’ll find out as I find out. It was closed as you already read.

One of these for dinner tonight?

Very strange to be out driving. I went through some small towns and I saw no people, also I saw a no vehicles, like a ghost town—very very strange—kind of eerie. Where did the people go!

In one of the small towns I went to, they had the grass so I pulled out my juggling clubs and threw them around. Later, four office workers came out and told me I made their day. I let them know my story and there were quite impressed, nice. But, my juggling is still lacking.

    Yes, I can still juggle.

    WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU! >>

Motivation is how we get things done. And achieve big goals in life. Unfortunately, it’s a finite resource – we can run out of motivation unless we replenish it daily.

Listening to music that motivates us, using positive affirmations, reading motivational books and listening to podcasts can all make us want to jump right back up again.

Because a lot of staying motivated comes from feeding yourself with a steady diet of things that motivate. I hope my weekly blog helps you.

Sometimes, simply reading through a list of motivational words and contemplating what they mean to you, is a great way to feed your mind with positive motivation.

So, here is a list of more than 200 (I keep adding to it!) single motivational words that have been compiled to inspire and motivate you.

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>

4/3—Back to staying with Shasta, Sondra and Trea. Like I wrote before, their land is like in a forest, so I fit right in. Thank you so much, ladies, for letting me stay here for a bit.

Today is my anniversary! On this date in 1982 I was hit by a truck and went through a 37-day coma.

    Did you see >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lr8QFnD1yGc&t=57s

Right now I’m typing using my voice on the cell phone. I’ve never done this before, it’s so easy.

4/6—Couldn’t take it anymore, how do you get back. Not knowing what the future will hold about charging up my devices, I am actually writing this now with a pen and paper and will transfer it later onto my computer.

    Mooooo!

I’m parked near a lake after I went North. The weather is getting warmer, I have no idea where I’m going through. I will sleep here for the night, next to the lake, with a smile on my face—as I am back in nature again.

LONG and straight roads in Texas.
I feel bad that so many bugs are killed while I am driving.

I like writing a blog using my voice. It goes directly onto Gmail, then I will move it into something else and edit. As I said before, I’m just learning now how to do voice typing, and I’m glad to take you along for the ride. I see that doing it this way, I might put on some long blogs.

    Nice Flowers along the road.

I can charge my phone while I drive, so I don’t have to worry about charging up my computer.

It’s a little after 7 right now, I will do some reading and some writing and I will think of you. Hope you sleep well, bye for now.

5/7So, today was the day I called about Big Bend, they were closed, makes me sad.

So I guess we’ll be off to see Cheeta tomorrow or the next day. What is an interesting life I lead?

4/8Very warm today, over 80 degrees. Yes, back in Roswell, New Mexico. To see my friend, Cheeta, once again. This town is very flat, I plan to do a lot of bike riding.

    Very fast speeds in Texas.

My ankle, where I spilled boiling water anointed, it’s getting worse. The pain today is excruciating. When it happened right away a big blister developed. Now the whole foot is swelling up and painful. Makes me want to rush to the hospital to have her checked, I’m not scared. I’ll let you know what happens of course.

It ended up that I did go to a hospital and have it checked out. They really did not do anything for me, and yet I had to wait hours. The doctor determined that it was not infected and should heal alright.

4/9, 10—THE WORLD IS SO VERY STRANGE RIGHT NOW.

Hardly any people visible anywhere in the area, people aren’t even out running. How long can this last?

MY CHALLENGE FOR YOU THIS WEEK >>
A big one this week. You have time right now, go through your entire house and get rid of what you are not using. Totally clear your home out if needed. Living in a van, I have learned that living with less makes a much better life.

Hopefully, we will all get back to life by next week.

    INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>

Sorry I could not get my blog out to you yesterday. A slow week, hope I can still inspire you some.

    WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU! >>

From my book series, “Beyond Your Potential” >>

They Can Do It and You Can’t

If you have lost part of your skills and part of your life in some way, you will look at others in a strange way and wonder why they do not know what you could be going through. The rest of the world seems to be going on as usual and only you have changed; an extremely lonely experience. Things have changed, but you are the one seeing this change the most: a big challenge. Face that challenge and move through the change—pushing forward all the time.

    Put in More than Half-Effort

Challenge yourself! It is difficult to emphasize this enough. Whether you juggle, play basketball, climb mountains, make up tunes at the piano, or play cribbage—challenge yourself to be your very best, no matter your physical abilities. There are ways of exploring the limits of our skills, desires, and abilities as we try and improve them. Don’t just make a feeble attempt at what you do, putting in half the effort. Drive yourself toward excellence!

Do Your Very Best Every Time

No matter how good or bad you are at things, aim toward doing your very best—every time. This is something I learned in my juggling days. When I practiced, I put full effort into each attempt of a juggling trick. Put your all into every attempt of every task at hand; push yourself toward excellence, no matter what your circumstances might be. By excellence, I mean to do it at the very best of your ability, not just general excellence. Don’t compare yourself with others. Make this aiming toward excellence a habit and it will make your life a wonderful adventure.

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>

3/28 through 4/1—What to do, what to do. With things closing down it has been very difficult to be on the road. I heard from my Facebook friend, Trea Cleaves, who is living near Austin, Texas. I decided to go for a visit.

You see, I was in Louisiana and heading to New Orleans to see a juggling friend, he let me know that the virus was rampant there, so I changed direction heading back toward Austin.

4/2—So, after a pleasant stay with Shasta and Sondra and Trea, I was anxious to get back on the road, to the south again. It makes it difficult to travel, normally I stop at various McDonald’s and libraries, where I can plug in and use their WiFi, but, now I can still get their WiFi while in the parking lot, but I need to plug in to charge things, so, a difficulty.

Trea, I do hope you find your way back to horses.

Right now I am parked in a residential area parked for the night, 7pm. I will type for awhile and read; very quiet and comfortable here. Currently I am pleasing my palate with apples and grapes and cheese and crackers. Obtained from a food bank, a great dinner it is. And, the glass of wine adds to it well.

Yet, I moved. There is a train track not too far away, and I did not want to hear trains through the night, so off I went toward the south. Found a friendly place toward the south where I will be for the night.

I’ve been writing to you every week for more than a year, a fun project for me. I am thinking I might, in the future, stay in the wilderness offline for a week or two, please don’t panic if you don’t find my blog (like you ever care—I hardly hear from anyone about the words I write. So, do you can?)

I think I wrote to you before about my spilling boiling water on my foot? Well, it has been hurting, much, I hope I won’t have to chop my foot off, that might hurt!

4/3—This date, back in 1982 I was hit by a truck and went through a 37-day coma. I’ve learned much since then and have helped many people, which makes me happy.

Today I have a slight sore throat. With this Corona thing, it gets me thinking.

4/4—Heading back to be at Shasta, Sondra, and Trea’s house. I tried to make it out on my own, but, with libraries and McDonald’s closed, I have no where to power up my devices. Thanks so much for letting me stay over and use electricity.
