    INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>

Boulder, Colorado is nice! Yet it was time to move on. I had to get back to the wilderness, so I went to Rocky Mountain National Park, once again.

This new thing about wearing a mask is really bugging me. Is it because everyone else is doing it? or, are people really scared they’re going to die? Well, even in the wilderness, away from others, some people were wearing a mask, ridiculous, to me. Or, while driving in the car, alone, some are wearing their mask—it makes no sense.

Scientists who work with deadly viruses have complete protection. No air can get into them or out. These masks might make people feel better, but, from what I have read, do not do much to help.

While at Cindy’s I did a lot of work on her home, including painting her fence.

Why just last night we went out to a restaurant, I didn’t have a mask. Before I went in they told me I had to have a mask on. They had one for me though, so I put it on, with a big smile on my face. As we got into the restaurant, no one had their mask on—they were eating—of course. So I initially had my mask on, when I found no one had a mask on, I kept mine off.

You might know how it really bugs me when people don’t look you in the eye and connect? They don’t say “hi”, and aren’t friendly. Now, people can hide behind their masks and be very unfriendly. I still try and say hi, represent friendliness, but I seldom get friendliness in return. And it seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I hope you are not one of the unfriendlies.

Do these people also sleep in their masks?

I’m not sure that I like what this new human life on Earth is turning into, but what else do we have? We do have the long big sleep, but, I’ll save that for another time.

The van is running a superb, I had some work done to it here in Boulder, even picked up four new tires, which are rolling great! I want to thank Jeff Murray and Discount Tire for the great price for the four tires, which are rolling well. Discount Tire impresses me, all the employees who worked with me did so in an excellent way.

If you need tires, check out Discount Tire.

    WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU! >>

Inspirational quotes and motivational sayings have an amazing ability to change the way we feel about life and can change our thinking. This is why I find them so interesting and important on our paths to happiness.

So what’s the secret of great quotes?

You see, the way you think and feel about yourself, including your beliefs and expectations about what is possible for you, determines everything that happens in your life. It all derives from your quality of thinking.

When you change the quality of your thinking, you change the quality of your life, sometimes instantly. Just as positive words can make someone smile, and/or, a well-timed humorous quote can make someone laugh, our thoughts react to the world in real-time.

    Think right—always.

You have complete control over only one thing in the universe — your thinking –

and that’s where motivational quotes come in! Self-talk is so important—THINK RIGHT!

I hope the words I pick do help you.

    ==============

Be inspired by these words >>

From my book series, Beyond Your Potential >>

When we are children we have much less fear. After the accident, I had the limitations, the fear, that an adult might have. The way we can get over our fear of something is first to study and figure out exactly what it is we are scared of. In our mind, be able to accept the worst that can happen, and also the best that can happen. Then the most important is to take action. Without taking action we will stay in fear of whatever it is forever. Taking action toward our fear is the key to success. Another way that helped me, and can help you, is to picture ourselves doing whatever it is we fear. This will help us to conquer our fear. Really we are teaching ourselves, and the teacher is usually the one who learns the most.

Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.

When we are dealing with loss and grief, remember that they are not our enemies, but living in constant fear of them is.

Fear of failure becomes fear of success for those of us who don’t ever try anything new.

If you fail at something in life, remember that it was only for that instance, you are not a failure as a person.

    Breakthrough your fears.

There are three fears that many people are more scared of than even death: The Fear of Rejection, being made a fool or failure in the presence of others.

The Fear of Change, doing your own thing, going your own way, choosing a path that has not been followed before.

The Fear of Success, feeling guilty for our accomplishments and our successes.

    The six basic fears:

    The fear of poverty

    The fear of criticism

    The fear of ill health

The fear of loss of the love of someone

    The fear of old age

    The fear of death

Fears are nothing more than states of mind.

I never told myself that I could fail.

Confidence is the key. When you have confidence you can do just about anything. I learned that when you need to, just fake confidence to yourself and to others. You will feel better about yourself and get more accomplished, others will believe in you. Remember, confidence can bring you so far.

If you’re not confident at some point, fake it, you will be surprised at the outcome. What do you think I’m doing now, not really, but then again, who knows for sure. Always have full confidence that you will reach your goals and you will end up there before you know it. Confidence is a habit that you can, and must, develop for yourself. Confidence is not something you have naturally, it comes through practice. Find courage.

To develop courage…, act as if you already had it.

Do nothing to dull your energy. It is magnetic. Vitality, aliveness, and enthusiasm attract the same in others.

When I talk to people I never say “I should do that” or “I’m working toward that”. I work until I do whatever, then I don’t feel like a fool if I don’t do whatever it is. There is a saying I heard once, “Don’t should on yourself.”

Even when everything looks bleak, winners fuel themselves with continued optimism and determination. They persevere knowing that it will take years sometimes to become successful. Problems and frustrations are an incentive for them to work even harder.

Base your life on value, not cost.

Confidence is a pattern, train yourself.

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>

7/3—I decided to go to Rocky Mountain National Park. I just knew that July 4th weekend would bring in masses of people. When I arrived at mid-morning I saw that there were cars backed up to a stop often, even before you got into the park. It took an hour to just get to the gate.

Then I found out that all cars have to have a reservation to even enter the park, so it was back I went after a waste of time.

7/4This next day I left to go up to the park at 6 in the morning, wanting to get there before all the masses of people arrived. Arriving at the entrance gate, there was not even anyone there, so I drove right into the park. As the day went, of course, more and more people arrived.

Also, I came to Rocky mountain national park early at 6am because I knew animals would be out early.

Well, I am glad it went into the park. Pretty quickly after I arrived, I came up on three very large elk grazing at a pond. Even this early, there are many you already stopped to see them. You will see from the photos these are some big creatures.

Later I saw a mama moose and her youngster. Hard to see these two, first they were in the woods, then they were laying down in the woods. So, I saw their heads as they were laying in the grass. So, no photos, sorry.

It was nice early when there were not many people, but, as the day went on, more and more showed up.

I’m not sure, I think there’s a snowy icy area year-round. In fact, I juggled 3 snowballs, with an audience watching, it was fun.

Then, what about lunch Tim,e stuff started to fall from the sky.

    But, I didn’t get wet.

The hail soon changed to rain.

As soon as the weather changed, everyone wanted to depart. Are they scared they’re going to melt or drowned in the water? Seems that everyone was on our way out. I just parked my van and watched these goofy people as I was sitting on the side of the road.

Speaking of that, looking to the side of the road, drop-offs where many kilometers down to a crash ending on the rocks. So inviting, but not yet for me. If I were going to kill myself, an ending like that would be too painful. I once heard that the most pleasant way to go is to overdose on LSD.

Smashing on the road, that is how my younger brother, Gary, died. he was out off-roading with my older brother’s son, drinking beer, no seat-belt, they rolled, they both died.

And my older brother, Mike, died the same sort of death. He is was taking a bus from San Diego to Baker, Oregon, no one knows why, he got off the bus and started hitchhiking. He was hit by a vehicle and killed.

And, you know my touch with death—hit by a truck, which resulted in a 37-day coma. So all three Summers males were in accidents, I’m the only one who lived. A sad thing, but that’s life (and death.)

Had dinner tonight right next to the stream, the sound was so pleasant. The tacos, I must say, where delicious. Wish you were with me, you would have loved them too.

Well, on my way out, I stopped by the Estes Park library to see if they are open.

    YES, THEY WERE!

I was able to plug-in and get online just like the old days. Hopefully, soon, all the libraries will be open, which would be fabulous for me.

This Estes Park library is only open from 9am until 1pm, so, I got a few hours in with a smile on my face.

7/9—This trail we were on went up to, Red Rocks, right near Boulder. The entrance to this wonderful area is only a few blocks away from where Cindy lives, it’s fabulous. you can be in the wilderness in just a few minutes, what a great place to live.

But, yikes, I forgot to bring my camera. So, I could not take any photos to show you how splendid the area is. I’m sorry about that, I must remember to bring my camera to show you the fabulous places I go to.

Here is Red Rocks >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXW6QjcyAI8

This was a challenging terrain for me to conquer. Many rocks and boulders to get through, the trail was not the best, also. Just took one fall, as my foot slid on small pebbles. It was a great challenge.

With balance issues and how I often see double, I have trouble dealing with rocks in the landscape. I sometimes have to close one eye to see right, and do quick shifts in footing to help balance.

In fact, That is one of the main ways I came back from my 37-day coma, I would constantly challenge myself. I had to learn to do everything physical once again, including eating, walking, and juggling. Always reaching for more, I continue to concur things that seem challenging.

This is a habit that will help you, challenging yourself. Along with this, if I do not want to do something that you know needs to be done, I do that first, before easier things.

MY CHALLENGE FOR YOU THIS WEEK >>

Challenge yourself (safely)! This week, get things done you hesitate doing or put off, get them done! and stay ahead of your challenges. Make this a new habit, it will add much to your life.

Recently I went to get my teeth cleaned, along with xrays. The dentist found a number of things wrong with my teeth—over 6,000 bucks worth. I know I need to have some work done, then I remembered Dr. Bartell in Mexico, who has done work on my mouth in the past.

The last time I needed much work done it would have been over $10,000 in the US, I went to Dr. Bartell and it was 10% of the cost of having in done in America. And, the people there speak better English than I do, so, no language worries, and the work is magnificent.

I will be writing next week about each step I took to walk over the border and go to Dr. Bartell. If you need work done on your teeth, it might even be worth in to fly into San Diego and pop over the border to get some excellent work done on your mouth.

    INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>
Putting my blog out today, Thursday, because I do not know if I will have WiFi connection tomorrow.

Because I have not been traveling, and because I have many new friends, I will let you know about me in this blog. I will be including photos from my past juggling, let me know what you think.

Still held up in Boulder, Colorado. With places closed where I normally charge up my computer and get online, like libraries and McDonald’s, for example, I am very happy that Cindy allowed me to live in my van while it is parked in her driveway. Thank you, Cindy.

Although, I have completed all the work that Cindy needed on her house, so I will be heading north today. I would love to visit you wherever you might be in the world, please let me know if we can work that out.

I have many new friends who my blog goes out to, so, because I am not traveling and cannot write of life on the road going to national parks, I wanted to let you know something about me.

I am happy you are my friend. By email, I post to about 400 people, and, I have almost 5,000 friends on Facebook who get my words. My aim is to inspire and motivate you to live a better life, I hope I have been meeting that goal.

So, a different kind of blog that I normally put out.

    Question Life

As you would guess, I had many questions about life after the challenges I have been through. I knew that the person who asks the best questions often gets a better life. As I found out, when things are not going well, there are some questions that you should be asking yourself, such as, “Is this really that important to me?” Ask yourself if there will be any chance of success if you continue doing whatever you’re doing the same way you’ve always been doing that same way.

    Another Way?

Also, ask yourself if there is another way of doing whatever you want to accomplish. Asking ourselves questions will lead to better decisions and ways of doing things, rather than just taking a chance on things. Look at your life and see where you need change to help you move forward. Make change happen when you need it, don’t wait for an accident or problem to occur before you make any changes.

    I wanted a Change

At a time right before my big accident, I had written to my friend, Ken Benge. In my letter, I said that I enjoyed my juggling and performing life very much at the casino, but I knew that I wanted to move on to something different after a while. I was successful, I was making good money, but I saw that change was eventually needed in my life. We all need changes for advancement.

    Welcome Change

If we just live our days with nothing changing, life can be boring, we don’t grow. I’m not saying that it will take something like what I went through to wake you up for a change, but you have to look forward to changing. You see, change is the one thing we can’t avoid. We can avoid paying taxes by not working; we can even avoid death with the medical breakthroughs that the medical profession is making. But we have to get used to change. Interpret change as adding to your life, make change a good feeling. Make positive changes happen in your life through your thoughts.

    Create the Right Thoughts

How you feel is not the result of what is happening in your life, it is your interpretation of what is happening at that moment. Things are often how we perceive them in our minds at the time. See the future but live moment by moment. Yes, I did get down after the accident at times, but I created the depression. That is the only way that people can become stopped in their minds, they first have to create the depression. You have more control then you know through yourself-talk.

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>

Since I’ve not been traveling and because I have many new friends, instead of my daily writings, today I will be letting you know about me.

    The bio of Kit Summers.

Kit Summers has had a tumultuous life, traveling from being one of the top jugglers in the world to lie in a coma for more than a month, learning to speak and walk all over again, passing through a failed marriage, run down by a truck the second time and finally emerging as a successful motivational speaker. He has learned to turn adversity into opportunity. Now let Kit teach you how to do the same thing in your own life—FIND SUCCESS!

I rose to great heights as a world-class juggler.

Then fell face-down to the earth through the aforementioned accident and subsequent 37-day coma.

Then rose again with the writing and publishing of my first book, “Juggling with Finesse”, and starting my fresh salsa business. See summerssalsa.com

Fell back down after getting hit by a truck—the second time.

Up again by starting work on this book to help you.

Back down when put in jail for a month on a false charge (which was dismissed.)

Ascended once again, traveling throughout the world to see and experience new things.

    Up-down, up-down.

Join me on my roller-coaster ride as I bring your life to higher levels.

Once again, not much has happened this week. I do want to get back on the road, and I thank Cindy for letting me live in my van while parked in her drive.

    INTRO TO THIS WEEK >>

Not much to write about this week, still in Boulder (I do like it here.) Cindy is still letting me park in her driveway and live in my van, although I am in her residence most of the day helping to advance the place. Today I did much painting.

Because I’ve not been traveling, I am including some past photos—enjoy.

I hope to get out to the wilderness as soon as possible.

    WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU! >>

Inspirational quotes and motivational sayings have an amazing ability to change the way we feel about life and can change your thinking.

Be inspired by these words >>

You were designed for accomplishment, engineered for success, and endowed with the seeds of greatness.” – Zig Ziglar

“Stick to your true north — build greatness for the long term.” – Ruth Porat

To achieve greatness one should live as if they will never die.” – Francois de La Rochefoucauld

Big dreams create the magic that stirs men’s souls to greatness.” Bill McCartney

Commitment is the foundation of great accomplishments.” –  Heidi Reeder

“Once you have the commitment, you need the discipline and hard work to get you there.” – Haile Gebrselassie

The biggest commitment you must keep is your commitment to yourself.” – Neale Donald Walsch

When you’re surrounded by people who share a passionate commitment around a common purpose, anything is possible.” – Howard Schultz

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>
6/14Last night Cindy and I went to see an event at https://www.circuscollective.com/ in Denver. A bunch of cars arrived with Circus performers. Some rigging was set up outside, and the performance started.

Mainly female performers, Cindy even got up there and did some good juggling; the audience loved it.

One guy was out giving a long talk on how black lives matter. Of course, black lives matter, I never thought they didn’t.

I am commenting right now on how a group of rich white people was out there demonstrating and there were only a few dark-skinned people–seemed quite ridiculous to me.

Why did they not invite many of their dark-skinned friends out to be with them? I care about people, much, no matter their skin color.

In fact, I did not even know that black lives mattered or not — they are humans — that is all I care about.

This new BLM political party grew so big and so fast, I do not think it is necessary–we are all people.

6/15-19—Not much happened this week, as I wrote. I helped Cindy with improving here abode, did a lot.

    MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>
4/6/20Went to Elkins lake, right next to Rocky mountain national park. That’s night, once again, I slept parked right by the lake, very nice.

Then, it was off to the Park. When I first went in, I saw a large pond with people looking at something. I soon saw that they were two big mooses (or is it “Meese”?) in the lake eating stuff from the bottom.

What a great opening site to this wonderful national park. After a while, many people started showing up at the park, time for Kit to depart.

I spent a few hours driving around the park. I’ve been here before, but always something new to see. I took many photos, hope you like. I even juggled snowballs! Also, I did some hiking out in the wilderness, as you know, something I like, much.

From there, because it was a nice day, I returned to Pearl Street Mall. After parking, and about a block away, I saw a gathering of people. Hoping was a performing juggler, I quickly went over.

It was a Black Lives Matter gathering. I’ve been seeing gatherings of people all over the world, what are they accomplishing? This is a gathering of hundreds of people.

It worthy cause, but I think better would be, “Human Lives Matter”. What I saw there were hundreds of white people acting as they care. Out of a crowd of hundreds, I saw only about 6 dark skin people.

I don’t like “black or white”, I’m kind of reddish myself. And people we call Black are often dark brown. We are all people, humans that is. I do not care about color, I care about people’s attitudes and the way they carry themselves.

There were some dark-skinned speakers and all the white folk who were watching and clapping and yelling. Once again, the group mainly was a light-skinned privileged crowd applauding for anything. Thinking they are making a difference?

Many people carried signs, many not even knowing what the sign means. I went up to one person and spoke with an accent, I asked, what does it mean “Matter”? This person didn’t seem to have any idea. She was just playing the part.

Discovered most all these people are under 30 years of age, many didn’t know what kind of point they’re trying to make.
Another person had a sign with the words “Defund Police”, did she know what that really would mean?!

Then about eight of these white people got mad at me for asking questions. They gathered around me and started asking me questions. This was an angry mob, it scared me.

Then the entire group went on a march through the area with signs and also yelling at people. For a peaceful march, these people seemed quite hostile.

Another person had a sign with the words, “Homeless People Matter”. I wanted to go up to this person and ask them if they have ever had a homeless person over for dinner? Or, have they invited any homeless person to stay the night?

As I said, this looked like a bunch of young rich white people trying to prove a point. Although, anger seemed to be obvious.

On their march, a guy would yell, “Show me what democracy looks like?” Then the crowd will repeat back, “This is what democracy looks like!” These, “followers”, we’re just saying words without meaning, like they couldn’t think for themselves.

They also got together after the march. One person yelled, “We will continue to fight, black people we love you, we are sorry.” I see, sorry for what? I must repeat, these were just a bunch of prevailed angry Caucasians.

If they really meant what they were saying they would have invited a large group of dark-skinned people to join them for the day?

Like I said I went up to the front and started asking questions. They tried to chase me away or close me down. I was being friendly, but the hatred they were showing was very strange. The anger they displayed was much. Because I did not “fit in” with them and their thoughts, they did not want me anywhere near. I stayed and tried to reason with some of them.

One guy started asking me why I was asking questions and what the hell was I doing there. Off the top of my head, I said I was a writer with a newspaper in San Diego and doing the story on the gathering.

They calmed down a little bit, but still, were quite angry. I fully backed out and went along my way. Are these demonstrations happening worldwide? After I wrote, a scary group it was.

6/8Staying around Boulder, mainly. My friend Daniel Powell was in the Boulder area! So, Daniel, Stacy, Cindy, and I went up to a local wilderness area and did some hiking and spent some time. We all went for a long walk and all liked it much.

6/12Cindy and I went to the local Boulder Reservoir. Cindy brought her boat and we each went for a boat ride, nice. There were some Geese in the area, with some goslings, too. What a fun time it provided.
