WHAT NEW STORIES ARE YOU READY TO WRITE?

=============================
OPENING WORDS

I just got the news!
MY DAUGHTER, APRIL, IS PREGNANT!
I’m gonna be a grandpa; oh, happy day.
Here is a photo her baby inside April >>

You may know I was named after my father, Virgil Carson Summers, so I am Jr. My parents called me “Kit” because of my middle name. Somehow, the hospital here got my name as Virgil, which is on a sign on the door.

Changes, I am used to them, but some big ones are on the horizon.
On June 30, I am flying to Florida with my daughter, April.
Once there, she will help me set up to be at
https://www.brainline.org/resource/neurorestorative-florida-avalon-park
I will get help with my balance and juggling.

At the hospital/rehab right now. I have taught at least ten staff members how to juggle. Each loved their new skill. Along with a place to live, I receive three meals a day.

I currently have no living expenses. And I’ve just paid off my credit card and have no other bills. Feels great not to have any debts now (why is there a “b” in the word debts?) I’m happy to be able to pay off all my bills and move forward.

HOW IT IS. I guess I am homeless now. As you know, for seven years I lived in my incredible van. I crashed the van last month and don’t know what my future holds. My daughters searched and found the place that the link above shows.

I just went down to the first floor. The people there seemed worse off with a worse brain injury.
As I’ve written before — WHAT A STRANGE LIFE I LEAD.

For about an hour, the guy in the room across from me was talking very loudly and making no sense. It’s like I was put into a crazy house (I wrote that because I don’t know how to write ‘Insane Asylum’). He does this daily, and it is hard to hear how upset he is, with slow, slurred yelling caused by a brain injury.

I met someone on the internet. We have been writing to each other, and both of us are deeply in love. We will fulfill each other and have a great life together. Stay tuned, and you will learn of our great love and how we look to have a fantastic future.

I did some juggling while standing over the bed. When you juggle like this, you don’t have to reach down very far to get the ball. So, things went smoothly as the balls did their dance in the air. The clubs are more difficult for me. I need to go outside and juggle clubs on the grass.

I’m planning on bringing on a whole new life. I want to improve my juggling skills. I also want to get back to running. My asthma comes on so strongly when I run. There are drugs to help with that. I want to improve my life in any way I can.

I’m still in need of a vehicle.
Do you have one for me?
I can fly anywhere to retrieve it.

My friend wrote this to me. Thanks, Jules!
“Please, please, please continue with your blog.
You have no idea the comfort I get from reading your words.
It’s helped me through some not-so-great times.
I ALWAYS look forward to your weekly blog!”

WELCOME THE PRESENT MOMENT- EVERY SINGLE INSTANT!

BLOG 331–Do You Touch-Type?
In high school, I learned to touch-type. I’m not even sure why I wanted to learn, but I am so glad I did. Somehow, I knew it was necessary to understand for later in life. And it might be due to the background noise prevalent in schools.

To effectively touch-type on a keyboard, start by positioning your fingers on the home row keys (A, S, D, F for the left hand and J, K, L, colon for the right hand). You can learn the finger assignments for the other keys.

Practice regularly. Initially, focus on accuracy over speed, and gradually increase your typing speed as you become more comfortable with the keyboard. Proper posture and avoiding looking at the keyboard are also key components of touch typing. As you move forward with you new skill, type “a” through “z” without looking at the keyboard.

It’s like riding a bicycle or a unicycle; you never forget once you learn. If you’re willing to work at it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life. This comparison frames touch typing as a skill that improves with effort and benefits many aspects of life, like juggling.

Master the basics of touch typing, then practice them every day without fail. Consistent repetition of many disciplines every day leads to outstanding achievements gained slowly over time. This idea, though general about mastering basics, applies well to touch typing practice.

Your posture and hand placement are essential. You can sit upright with your back straight and your shoulders relaxed. Your feet should be flat on the floor, and your elbows should be at a 90-degree angle. Now, you are ready to attack the keys.

Keep your wrists straight and avoid resting them on the laptop or table. This can prevent wrist strain. Locate the home row keys. These are usually marked with a slight bump or ridge on the F and J keys of the laptop or computer.

Rest your fingers on the home row: The left hand’s index finger on F, middle finger on D, ring finger on S, and pinky on A. The right hand’s index finger on J, middle finger on K, ring finger on L, and pinky on the semicolon key. Could you position your thumbs over the spacebar? Each finger is responsible for a range of keys. For example, the left index finger handles the keys F, G, R, T, V, and B.

Practice, you are a touch typing enthusiast. That’s why you are here in quest of touch typing benefits. Fortunately, you are in the right place. Read through the full article to discover all of your unanswered questions about the benefits of touch typing.

In short, touch typing is a method of typing that requires no visual reference to the keyboard. However, don’t confuse it with a touchscreen device type. This is somewhat different. The touch typing technique enables you to utilize muscle memory to accurately hit the right keys at the right time This results in improved productivity and accuracy without needing to look at the keyboard.

We now live in a global village where most communication and work are done online; touch typing has become a crucial skill that can significantly improve your work efficiency. Imagine typing at lightning speed without having to look at the keyboard or spending hours fixing errors. Touch typing can help you achieve just that! Thanks to touch typing, we can focus on the content we are creating rather than the physical act of typing itself.

With consistent practice and the proper techniques, anyone can learn to type quickly and accurately. In the following sections, we will explore various benefits of touch typing, including improved productivity, accuracy, cognitive development, multitasking, language learning, and accessibility.

This skill will make your life easier.
So, why start improving your typing skills today?

From the home row to other keys. Focus on using the correct finger for each key. Use the Shift keys with your pinky finger—the right pinky for left-hand keys, and the left pinky for right-hand keys.

Start with the home row and gradually learn other keys. Use online typing tutors or practice exercises to build your muscle memory. Focus on accuracy over speed. Speed will naturally increase as your accuracy improves.

Please don’t look at the keyboard. This is a crucial part of touch typing, allowing you to type more efficiently. Consistency is key to developing touch typing skills. Consider using an on-screen keyboard for guidance. Microsoft Support provides instructions on how to enable and use this feature.

Practice regularly. By following these steps and practicing consistently, you can learn to touch type effectively on your laptop, computer and typewriter to improve your typing speed and accuracy.

ALL YOU HAVE IS NOW!
MAKE THINGS FANTASTIC!

WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU!
Inspirational quotes and sayings have a unique ability to change the way we feel about life and can change our thoughts. They are attractive, challenging, and essential on our path to joy and happiness, as well as finding ways to inspire ourselves and others.

READ
Reading through the quotes below about life can do the trick if you’re looking for a pick-me-up or a healthy dose of motivation. Whether centered around positive affirmations, self-care, or success, life quotes can be powerful inspirational tools.

THE BURST!
Inspirational quotes and ideas provide a quick and timely burst of wisdom to help us regain our focus, offering the inspiration needed for the day or occasion. I hope the words below bring a smile to your face and drive you to make this day and every day a fantastic event.

BE POSITIVE!
Just as positive words can make someone smile, and a well-timed, amusing quote can make someone laugh, your thoughts react to real life. Have this control! You have complete control over only one thing in the universe—YOUR THINKING!—and that’s where motivational quotes come in!

“YOU”
Your quality of thinking and how you think and feel about yourself, including your beliefs and expectations about what is possible, determine everything in your life. Use quotes to move ahead in your life.

SELF-TALK IS SO ESSENTIAL—THINK RIGHT!
To stay motivated, use each day as an opportunity to improve and move closer to your goals. It might sound like a lot of work, and it’s next to impossible with your busy schedule. But you can do it! Motivational words, yes, are just words. But they are positive words; they will keep you on track.

QUOTES
Motivational quotes affect our brain, behavior, and lives because they make us feel like we are in control of our success and have self-efficacy. Quotes make us believe that we have the confidence to complete a task successfully, which is different from having the motivation to succeed.

QUOTES WILL BENEFIT YOU!
Positive and inspiring quotes can be like sunshine on a cloudy day. They inject optimism into our thoughts, brighten our mood, and help us focus on the good in life. They remind us that even in the face of adversity, we can see the silver lining and embrace a positive attitude.

PEARLS OF WISDOM
In a world filled with challenges and indecisiveness, the power of inspirational quotes cannot be exaggerated. These pearls of wisdom uniquely uplift our spirits, can spark positive change, and fuel our motivation when we need it most.

WORDS WILL CHANGE YOU!
The correct motivational quote can change you and things, helping you ditch the excuses, escape your comfort zone, and take action. Read these words with an open mind and learn to improve your life.

THESE QUOTES
When you read these quotes, you’ll also realize that many other people worldwide are experiencing these feelings. These feelings make you think you’re the only person who could feel this bad. But you’re not. Many other people also feel bad. This is the irony of it. You don’t want other people to feel crappy, but it does make you feel better or at least comforted to know that other people feel just as bad as you.

READ CAREFULLY
These quotes can be used when you wake up or prepare for work.
You can write your favorite quotes somewhere where you can see them first thing in the morning.
These quotes are motivating, inspiring, and encouraging.
They will help you see your potential, stay motivated, and see the beauty in every morning.
Use them to your advantage!

MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>
Each week goes by so quickly.
It seems that time is passing more quickly.
You must live joyfully, daily, for each day!

Do you know what you did last Monday?
Do you remember what you ate for dinner last Thursday?
Keep track of your doings for a few weeks; you will see your time differently.
Remember, the quality of your life depends on what you do each day, each moment!

6/28–Still at the hotel. I’ve gotten used to it now, but it’s time to move on.

6/29–So nice in the morning when you hear the horse clip-clopping down the road. These are Amish, of course, making a good start to my day.

Some significant changes are on the horizon for me. My daughters, Jasmine and April, set things in motion for this to occur. Tomorrow, April and I will go to the Philadelphia airport, and both fly to
https://www.brainline.org/resource/neurorestorative-florida-avalon-park

I will live in their apartment building.
I plan to help others as much or more than I get helped.
It should be a significant change and a forward path for me.

You see, every nine seconds, someone in the United States sustains a brain injury. That adds up to 3.5 million people each year. Brain injuries range from mild to moderate to severe. Mine included going through a 37-day coma.

Every injury is different, but when your brain is injured, it can affect everything: your ability to speak, focus, remember, and relate to other people. For one thing, I will never be able to juggle as I used to. I have set different things in motion, though, and I move forward.

BrainLine is a national multimedia project offering authoritative information and support to anyone whose life has been affected by brain injury or PTSD: people with brain injuries, their family and friends, and the professionals who work with them.

Sounds like I will receive intense rehab. Yet, it has been many years since my change, will I find results? I learned that BrainLine also provides military-specific information and resources on traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to veterans, service members, and their families.

Through video, webcasts, articles, personal stories, research briefs, and current news, those whose lives have been affected can learn more about brain injury symptoms and treatment, rehabilitation, and family issues associated with care and recovery.

The people at BrainLine aim to create a sense of community, a place where individuals concerned about brain injury can access information, support, and ideas 24 hours a day. I am looking forward to learning and growing as I help others, too.

I JUST SAW MY DAUGHTER, APRIL, SHE IS PREGNANT!
Due to be born in October, she is expecting a daughter. Oh, happy day!

Just recently, April’s husband, Jake, had gone through a terrible tooth ordeal.
He was in the hospital for some days, and things didn’t look good. He came through it.
Also, there was April and Jasmine’s mom, Mary Ellen, whom I was married to for 23 years.
In a way, a family get-together? Mary Ellen is looking fantastic.

6/30–I found out that someone has to be with me for the first 38 hours. It is in case I need something. There is no privacy, but for this short time, it will be alright. This person stays in the living room area; they spend most of their time on their phone, mainly looking at videos and such. Someone else takes their place every eight hours.

I’m not free to come and go as I please, which is difficult—it’s a controlled situation. I am all right with it. Nearby are woods and wilderness. I expect I will want to go for walks there. I will let you know how it goes.

Jasmine and April are acting like I will be here until my death. I want to live until at least 100, remember? That will be many years from now. This is alright for now; I plan to get back on the road someday.

7/1–Slept alright last night, no sound whatsoever, nice. Maindy learned to juggle; she is the main person who stays with me. Next was an Occupational Therapy visit (mainly working with my hands). I’m not sure how much they will help. And I had a session of speech therapy—much more than how you say words.

In the afternoon, I visited Dieanna from Physical Therapy (PT). What’s terrible is I had forgotten her name, but later got it. She told me a couple of times as well. Now, is that from my brain injury, or is it just age? There are several things that I question in that regard. She did extensive testing on me and later said I performed well on each.

I performed well on everything except walking heel-to-toe and standing on one foot. I told her beforehand I would have trouble with those areas, as I did. But, is it brain injury, or is it age? I had Dieanna do both of these tasks, which she did perfectly. I’m sure I could have done them in the old days, too, before the brain injury.

I’m not sure if I will continue here. They could help me with some little things, but the insurance company is paying them at least $400 a day to house me. It’s a nice place to live but for the rest of my life?

In PT, it sounded like Dieanna didn’t want to work with me anymore, saying she couldn’t help. There are people here with walkers, wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs, and using canes. Physically, many looked slow and spoke with difficulty, like many brain-injured people do. I did not fit in with the group. I still have deficits, but not to the level of being here.

Currently, I am unsure what the future holds. With no vehicle and a dismal future, what’s a Kit to do? At this point, I don’t even have family who can help. I almost feel I am scamming NeuroRestorative. Most of my belongings are stored at April’s house near Lancaster, PA. I had already lost a great deal after my crash with the van.

I met with someone at PT today who does not think she can help me. So, I’m unsure why I’m even here.

I contacted my friend, Dave Finnigan. He is going through a bout of cancer now, which is making his life very hard. Dave has accomplished a great deal in his life, and I am quite impressed with this man. Take a look >> https://www.facebook.com/davefinnigan

7/2–Today, I taught Felda, who works here, to juggle!  She was surprised to have learned. Hopefully, she will stick with it and continue to improve over time. Along with scarves, I taught her to juggle with three balls as well. She is happy with her new skills.

Right now, I have no one, which makes me want to cry. I have been so lonely. There is no one to meet here at the place I am now, which is frustrating. I like being with someone so much. Like you, I have no idea what the future will hold. Living life all by myself — here I go!

Yet, through the internet, I have met a wonderful person.
I love you, Jesse and that love will grow huge.
We will let everyone know later.

Still feels like I am in jail being here.
Three sessions of therapy today.
It’s pretty straightforward.
I don’t know how it’s benefiting me.

7/3–Woke at my normal wake-up time, about 3:30 am.
Sessions of therapy are about the same every day.

7/4–Happy Fourth of July, as they say. With the 4th of July, staff numbers have been reduced, so hardly anyone is here. This is a hospital with comfortable accommodations. There is no therapy today, as people are at home now.

This morning, I didn’t eat anything. Now it’s about noon, and I’m awaiting lunch. I seldom get hungry, but I am now. However, the food here is not very good; it’s just something to eat. Additionally, it often seems that the same meal is served.

THEN, KEEP DOING NEW (DAILY) FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

THE GARDEN THIS WEEK

I keep this section on gardening.
I do like the skill and hope you do, too.

Winter is here now.
But there are still things you can grow.
And remember about indoor gardening.

A self-supporting life can be a better life.
A garden would be a part of that life.
You must look into it!

Because I am back on the road.
There will be no more words about the garden.
I do hope Beth keeps it up.
We did a lot of work establishing our vegetable garden.

START YOUR GARDEN TODAY!
IT MAY BE NECESSARY FOR YOUR LIFE!

Can you touch-type?
Now is the time to learn.
It will advance your life.
