WHY I WRITE THIS BLOG
You will have many in your life who assist and teach; I hope I help guide you. I want to lighten your path toward excellence. I am not trying to show you “the way”; I am trying to help you find “your way.” Writing this blog each week is new and different for me each time—I love it! In other words, I hope to continually add to your life and bring you to a higher level. Your life should always be starting again–a better life each time!

I WANT TO INSPIRE YOU WITH MY WORDS –WORDS HAVE POWER!
They can fill you with optimism and empower you to think positively.
Are you accomplishing what you want before your eventual demise?
You can (and should) make changes to improve your life — at every age. Let this thought motivate and drive you towards self-improvement.
Of course, that leads to helping others to have a better life.
We all need to help each other to reach a higher level.

MY EXPERIENCES
You already know much about what I write, and I want to remind you of these ideas and show that my views can provide you with additional thoughts, along with yours, to help you.
I hope to spread ideas from my life so you can live better.
Remember — only you know what is best for you.
And — you are only as young as the last time you changed your mind!

WHAT NEW STORIES ARE YOU READY TO WRITE?

============================
OPENING WORDS

I have been to many cities recently and don’t like cities. I would much rather be in wilderness areas. So I checked on the map and saw the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I had to go to get away from cars, towns, and people (I like you, though). Now that I’m here, there’s only nowhere to go.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmVNU9gCA2s

I was to the South, even to Florida. On my way north, I have an appointment with a neurologist in New Jersey on February 25. Both of my daughters have been helping with this. The doctor will report my results to Greg with Selective Insurance, who is looking into finding me a place to live at no charge.

In talking with my sister, Willow, I am finding out the words I’ve been using for the blog have been somewhat negative. I aim to bring you joy and happiness, so I must change my writing and ways.
===================
Jacob Tillman wrote this about the last blog >>
“This morning, I read your last blog post over breakfast. I agree with what you said, and I find myself blessed to have so much passion in my own life. I ended up starting my day with something I am very passionate about and haven’t been able to do in quite a while. I cleaned up an old swing bike I have had in storage for a long time (see attached picture). I had forgotten how much I enjoy working on bicycles. Your blog made me think about how I could bring more of this passion into my life.”
Thanks for your words, Jacob.

And from Eddie Goldstein in Boulder (https://eddiegoldsteinmagic.com/eddie/) >>

Kit, you are such a good person and essential to many people.

I know you must be devastated at the moment.
But life — YOUR life — is precious.
So don’t give up hope.

The best things in life aren’t things.

You are worth it.”

And my friend Larry wrote this >>

Kit–You’re a fighter and a creative artist. Your fantastic writing and life experiences will help you improve and continue to make a difference. Never give up!

You’re the BEST!!!

Please keep us posted on how you’re doing. I’m so sorry to hear about the accident. It’s now part of the past. A positive view of the future is what counts!

Best wishes for a full recovery!!!

      ===================
GREAT FRIENDS SENDING ME WORDS, THANK YOU.
        ===================
BLOG 310–I’m Here to Have Fun!
A blog about having fun???
Yesterday I was in an accident and lost everything.
How can I write about fun?
Well, the words were written previously; I hope they help you.

Yes, some of my recent blogs have been negative. I want to change my mindset. You shouldn’t have to read about my problems; we all have our own, and I’m sure you do. I want to encourage you to achieve your best no matter what might happen. I hope this will help you, Kath.

It’s up to you; you must MAKE things happen!
Always a choice–To choose joy–Or choose pain.
Always make the right choice.

There are a lot of things you can do to have fun by yourself–You are alright! You can read your favorite book, watch a movie, listen to music, walk, run, explore your city, bake a cake, or start a new project. The possibilities are endless! Just do what makes you joyful and enjoy your own company!

To bring more joy into your life, you can >>
Embrace your creativity.
Spend time with loved ones.
Try new hobbies or activities.
Actively engage in your existing interests.
Socialize with your friends and coworkers.
Essentially, step outside your comfort zone.
Take a second to notice the little things in life.
Consciously try to enjoy new and familiar things.
Actively seek out joyful moments in everyday life.
You can plan time to get involved in your hobbies.
Incorporate playful elements into your daily routine.
Watch funny movies or videos to make yourself laugh.
Try activities that you loved doing when you were young.
I encourage you to stay open to spontaneous experiences.
Do something spontaneous that you’ve never tried before.

You may feel incapable of even attempting to find pleasure, telling yourself that nothing brings “fun” anymore, a sad thing. You might withdraw from social interactions or activities because they seem pointless. Anhedonia is associated with anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. You’ve gotten through them before, you can again (I  will, too, watch me!)

Even with these problems, you can still bring joy to your life.    HA!
Recapturing the same motivation we once felt can seem impossible.

In the scheme of things, the start of 2025 is just behind us. We will fly through winter and spring and find ourselves on the precipice of fall. It’s arguably the best time of the year—there’s hope and the promise of warmer, brighter days ahead.

But often, with the excitement of your resolutions months behind us, our momentum slows. Look to the future and see the brighter days ahead. Watch as plants change, new growth and such. This can be a time of new growth for you, too. Make the changes that are necessary for a better life.

I’ve always skewed more seriously. When I’m in the zone with a goal in mind, it’s hard to see outside my carefully crafted action plan. But to be more carefree, I need to remember that breaking that script is exactly what you need to feel more joy in my everyday experience.

On a long hike, at the beach, or throwing juggling jprops, I easily enter a state of mind more about enjoying life than checking things off my to-do list. Yes, the beauty of nature tends to awaken that spirit in many of us. But it also has something to do with the fact that an interruption in the flow of life makes us feel more alive. Go with the flow (as they say.)

EMBRACE THE PRESENT MOMENT — EVERY SINGLE INSTANT!

WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU!
Inspirational quotes and sayings have a unique ability to change the way we feel about life and can change our thoughts. They are attractive, challenging, and essential on our path to joy and happiness and finding ways to inspire ourselves and others.

READ
Reading through the quotes below about life can do the trick if you’re looking for a pick-me-up or a healthy dose of motivation. Whether centered around positive affirmations, self-care, or success, life quotes can be powerful inspirational tools.

THE BURST!
Inspirational quotes and ideas give us a quick and timely burst of wisdom to regain our focus, offering the inspiration needed for the day or occasion. I hope the words below bring a smile to your face and drive you to make this day and every day a fantastic event.

BE POSITIVE!
Just as positive words can make someone smile, and a well-timed amusing quote can make someone laugh, your thoughts react to the world in real time. Have this control! You have complete control over only one thing in the universe—YOUR THINKING!—and that’s where motivational quotes come in!

“YOU”
Your quality of thinking and how you think and feel about yourself, including your beliefs and expectations about what is possible, determine everything in your life. Use quotes to move ahead in your life.

SELF-TALK IS SO ESSENTIAL—THINK RIGHT!
To stay motivated, you have to use each day as an opportunity to improve and get closer to your goals. It might sound like a lot of work—and with your busy schedule—next to impossible. But you can do it! Motivational words, yes, are just words. But they are positive words; they will keep you on track.

QUOTES
Motivational quotes affect our brain, behavior, and lives because they make us feel like we are in control of our success and have self-efficacy. Quotes make us believe that we have the confidence to complete a task successfully, which is different from having the motivation to succeed.

QUOTES WILL BENEFIT YOU!
Positive and inspiring quotes can be like sunshine on a cloudy day. They inject optimism into our thoughts, brighten our mood, and help us focus on the good in life. They remind us that even in the face of adversity, we can see the silver lining and embrace a positive attitude.

PEARLS OF WISDOM
In a world filled with challenges and indecisiveness, the power of inspirational quotes cannot be exaggerated. These pearls of wisdom uniquely uplift our spirits, can spark positive change, and fuel our motivation often when we need it most.

WORDS WILL CHANGE YOU!
The correct motivational quote can change you and things—helping you ditch the excuses, escape your comfort zone, and take action. Read these words with an open mind and learn to improve your life.

THESE QUOTES
When you read these quotes, you’ll also realize that many other people worldwide are experiencing these feelings. These feelings make you think you’re the only person who could feel this bad. But you’re not. Lots and lots of other people feel bad, too. This is the irony of it. You don’t want other people to feel crappy, but it does make you feel better or at least comforted to know that other people feel just as bad as you.

READ CAREFULLY
These quotes can be used when you wake up or prepare for work.
You can write your favorite quotes somewhere where you can see them first thing in the morning.
These quotes are motivating, inspiring, and encouraging.
They will help you see your potential, stay motivated, and see the beauty in every morning.
Use them to your advantage!

MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>
Each week goes by so quickly, don’t you think?
It seems like time is going by faster and faster.
You must live joyfully, daily, for each day!

Do you know what you did last Monday?
Do you remember what you ate for dinner last Thursday?
Keep track of your doings for a few weeks; you will see your time differently.
Remember, the quality of your life depends on what you do each day–each moment!

2/7–What a great day! First, I drove through The Great Smokie Mountains National Park.
Take a look >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3SswHhJgcY&t=258s
That left me off at Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Time to see Niels!

I thought he would be out of town, but I gave Niels Duinker a call — he was home!
Niels was between cruise ships performing–lucky for me.
Take a look >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3SswHhJgcY&t=258s
We talked for a while before we met at Panda Express for a meal (thanks again, Niels.)
He has performed so well all over the world.
Learn of Niels here >> https://www.comedyjuggler.com/
Watch this >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91rPNSvo5Bc
And this >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsF-W1vSuiM

There was a Walmart next door, so that is where I bedded down.
Niels is a good juggler and a good friend.
My juggling path before the accident took me down the path Niels is on now with his juggling.

The good day left a smile on my face.

2/8–Slept at a Motel parking lot last night. Woke up as usual, about 3 am. I lay there for a while before moving on to my first thing. I looked on GPS and saw a McDonald’s about three miles away. Knowing they would be open at 5 am, I had to go.

Later, after the library opened at 9 am, I was off to
https://jcpls.org/dandridge-memorial-library/
I will be spending the day here.

While driving along, I got into a significant accident.
I have no memories of it, but I am told it was my fault.
My van was totaled, and so was I.
My van had and was everything to me — a huge loss.
It was such a significant change (and almost 300,000 miles.)

2/9–My mom’s birthday is today.
She died in 2014, an incredible loss.
What a shock to me this was.

Talked with my sister, Willow, today.
We had a good talk.

I talked with my juggling friend, Tommy Curtin, who will pick me up tomorrow and take me to his house. Then, one of my daughters will pick me up from Tommy’s and take me to where they are. So, everything is working out alright.

There is a grocery store/market right next door, but I have no stove or way to cook and eat; I just bought a box of crackers, peanut butter, and a big bottle of Riesling to wash it down. Dinner was butter on crackers with wine. I’ve eaten much better and will again.

Looking at my future, the view scares me.
I have always known where I was going and doing—nothing now.
My friend, Steve Harrison, sent these words >>
“Kit, sorry to hear about your van.
Why don’t you ask for donations?
I will be happy to donate.”
It’s terrific to get Steve’s words.
Learn about Steve below >>
https://www.steveharrison.com/all-about-steve-harrison/
I would appreciate it if you could help me.

Another change: Tommy recently had back surgery and won’t be able to come pick me up. That’s okay; I will find a way (or will I?)

2/10–The accident. Strangely, I remember nothing of what happened in the accident, but the van was destroyed. One eyewitness told me it was the other person’s fault, but the police report stated otherwise. I’m having a hard time getting through this. What should I do?

One stranger (but she wasn’t strange) handed me bills and said she wanted to help. I thanked her for her generosity, gave her a hug, and we parted ways. Later, I saw there was a one-hundred-dollar bill and $33 more. Very nice of her. Good people are everywhere.

2/11–Depressed today about the accident. I found out, from the police report, that the accident was my fault, although I have no memory of any of it.

2/12–Once again, I awoke at about 1 am.
Right away, I remembered the nightmare that I was currently living in.

I just got this message from my daughter >>

“We are considering having you rent a car from Enterprise and drive up here in one day. Could you do that? We’d set up an Uber to pick you up from the hotel and bring you to the enterprise location; you’d get the car, then go back to the hotel to pack up your stuff, and then drive all day to the Enterprise location in Lancaster to return the vehicle. We’d pick you up locally at Enterprise.”

That is such great news!

I will be getting on the road tomorrow, and I’m scared. Linda, a taxi service that will take me around early tomorrow, will take me to Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Then, I have to figure out how to return to the hotel. I have to load all the stuff that was in the van and drive 12 hours to where Jasmine and April are. I hope you see how I might be scared. If just one thing is off, things can tumble.

Welcome to my new world. I feel so weird; all my things fit onto one double bed! I like to be minimalistic, but come on now. I will go and get the rent-a-car, drive it here to the hotel, and then load everything (I hope it fits). How much room would ALL your stuff take up?

2/13–I’ve been looking but couldn’t find my GPS. To my surprise, it was under a box. I’ve driven round-trip across the country at least 25 times, never having or using a GPS. Now, I can’t drive without it.

My wonderful daughters set up for me to get a car from Enterprise Rent-a-car. I will pick it up later and hope there is enough room for all my stuff. Once again, I have a fear of my upcoming future.

The drive back in the rental car, about 600 miles, was never-ending. When I returned, I followed the wrong coordinates and ended up in the wrong place. Driving at night is hard for me these days. Jasmine got a ride back from April to where I was and went with me in the rental car. Did I tell you that my daughters are amazing?

2/14–Nice to have so many friends and people who love me.

Dave Finnegan is helping on this, too,
My friend, Alex Morison, set this up for me >>
https://gofund.me/e3eedb8f
Can you help?

Or, write to Alex at alexjamesmorisun@gmail.com

Stayed in the hotel room all day today on my computer. Life has become difficult, and I do not like it. Some time ago, I remember saying aloud, “I love LIFE.  Yet, I must remain positive and look for good.

THEN, KEEP DOING NEW FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

THE GARDEN THIS WEEK

I keep this section about gardening in.
I do like the skill and hope you do, too.

Winter now, but there are still things you can grow.
And, remember about indoor gardening.

A self-supportive life can be a better life.
A garden would be a part of that life.    —

You must look into it.

Because I am back on the road, there will be no more words about the garden.
I do hope Beth keeps it up.
We did a lot of work establishing our vegetable garden.

When I drove the van seven years ago,
I grew stuff under the sunroof windows on the top.
I may start that up in my van garden again.
You will find out, of course.

START YOUR GARDEN TODAY!
IT MAY BE NECESSARY FOR YOUR LIFE!
