OPENING WORDS
This week has been strange, with all these changes I have had to go through. It is odd not to have a home, not even a van. Eventually, these things will be replaced. I will meet with the doctor on March 25 to examine me and my brain. I will let you know.
As you know, my van was totaled in a recent accident. Without transportation, it has been quite difficult. Do you have a vehicle or know someone who does, but it is not being used much? I would love to take over and give your vehicle a good life. Please write to me and let me know at kitsummers@gmail.com. I would appreciate your help.
I am so lonely that I stay in this hotel room alone. I called Beth a couple of days ago, and she was distant and mean to me. I don’t know what I was expecting, and I should not have been surprised, but . . .
My life continues to go nowhere. I believe I have much to live for, but I think I’m not applying myself enough.

BLOG 312–PLAYTIME!
When was the last time you played and had fun in your life?
What do play and curiosity mean to you?
How about your friends?
Do you find it fun to play with them?
The infectious nature of humor creates a powerful bond. When I speak to groups or perform my juggling act, the shared laughter in the room instantly fosters a sense of connection. Play is a social activity that brings people together.
Curiosity is essential for adults to maintain a sense of wonder, creativity, and well-being.
Play is a powerful tool for stress reduction, emotional healing, and improved relationships.
I want to encourage you to “loosen up” and rediscover the joy of simple activities.
- Don’t take life too seriously.
- Embrace your inner child.
- Find joy in everyday moments.
- Use humor to cope with stress.
- Connect with others through laughter and play.
- Live in the present moment.
- Continuously learn and grow.
- You are in control of your own life.
Loosen up!
When I loosened up and brought on fun and play, I saw the most progress in my life. Let go of some of those adult feelings that hold you back. You can still be mature about your responsibilities on the job and with your life. By bringing back the fun, curiosity, and joy, you will have more delight in your life, and everyone you deal with will loosen up. We live in an age that requires change, innovation, clear thinking, and creativity. The factors involved in humor require similar skills – play, exaggeration, associative thinking, reversal, developing spontaneity, and comic vision.
Challenge!
You must challenge yourself. As I was learning to walk again after my first accident, I saw a small row of bushes and jumped over them – I had to have my Kit fun. When we play spontaneously, we trigger endorphins in our brain that lift our spirits and calm our pain, fear, and burdens. Also, life can be difficult alone. When we play with other people, whether they’re family, friends, or strangers, we are reminded that we are not alone in the world; we are here as a group. The benefit is that we can connect to others in pleasant and meaningful ways that will expel loneliness as we bring on comedy.
Humor Binds Us
The whole room laughs when I speak for groups or perform a juggling act. Humor is infectious. The sound of laughter is far more contagious than any yawn. Joy brings on a certain mindset that is relaxing and helps in life. When there is laughter between people, it brings them together, and they bind in a close way. Play is often defined as a time when we feel most alive, yet we usually take it for granted and may completely forget about it.
Free Medicine?
A proven fact, laughter also generates healthy physical changes in the body. Humor and laughter fortify your immune system, decrease pain, boost your vitality, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress (yes, laughter is a primary stress reliever). Best of all, this precious medicine is fun, free, and easy to use. Everyone must laugh, for top health and well-being. A good laugh will weaken all the unpleasant thoughts you might be having. Your sense of humor is one of the most powerful things you have, and it will ensure your daily mood and emotional state support your good health.
No More Stress
I did go through depression for a time, as I’m sure you have, too. Laughter and joy helped to make me whole again. I could not be stressed and laugh simultaneously; the two don’t mix. Bring joy and laughter into your life, and watch the stress disappear. Having a sense of humor about life is crucial for a good life. When you are down, force yourself to laugh like when you were young, and you will see how good it makes you feel. Bringing on laughter is natural, and healing can profoundly affect our body and mind. We can and must bring back the laughter of our youth, letting it work its magic to bring on health and healing in our lives.
Relief
Laughter brings relief to life’s problems. Much of the humor comedians (like myself) use is laughing at what stresses us. Humor has always expressed the freedom of the human spirit—man’s capacity to stand outside of life and view the whole scene. We often see the big picture and laugh. Humor helps us handle the problems we believe we can’t control or solve. You have to think funny and paint funny images in your mind. Your active imagination is constantly tuned in. You have to always be in a receptive mood to see the humor that others overlook.
Don’t Turn into an Adult
I hear adults say to their children things like, “Stop being so immature,” or, “When are you going to grow up?” These people are trying to teach their children not to be kids. Sometimes, I’m sure these adults are jealous of kids’ carefree and innocent nature. Bring back that childhood fun and wonder that is within each of us. Take the time to ride your bike, fly a kite, juggle those balls, smell a rose, walk through the woods or a beautiful park, or walk barefoot in the sand at the beach. As adults, we need to explore the child within us.
Grow Up?
People turn into adults. They lose their childhood curiosity, fun, and play in their life. Without these traits, it is hard to learn and change. Even with the power of play, somewhere between early days and maturity, many of us stop playing and often stop learning. We exchange play for work and responsibilities. When we have time, we usually zone out in front of the computer or TV rather than engage in creative, brain-stimulating play. By giving ourselves approval to play with the joyful mind of a child, we can continue to gain benefits throughout our lives.
Some benefits of bringing humor into your life:
Humor boosts immunity
Relaxes the whole body
An antidote to loneliness and isolation
Lowers stress hormones
Decreases pain
Triggers the release of endorphins
Supercharges learning
Provides peak experiences and intrinsic motivation
Re-oxygenates your blood
Helps defuse conflict
Adds joy and zest to life
Eases anxiety and fear
Enhances resilience
Protects the heart
Enhances teamwork
Improves mood
Promotes group bonding
Dissolves distressing emotions
Enables you to relax and recharge
Humor shifts perspective
With all these benefits, you need to laugh and enjoy life more. Play is as significant to physical and psychological health as getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising.
The Child in You
Do you remember how much fun it was as a kid to play ball with friends, fly kites, juggle, and explore? You can keep the same enjoyment as an adult by unceasingly learning more and doing interesting things. If you find yourself missing that child inside of you, you could get in touch with the child in you again by knowing that this child is not far behind you. Let yourself go a bit and bring back the curiosity and joy of life.
A Joy!
Take time to be silly, laugh, and make jokes about yourself. Connect with people in this way, and you will lead a better life. You may have to teach yourself to bring that childhood humor back. When I find myself being too serious, I put my hands out to my sides, up by my shoulders, and pretend I’m an airplane. My daughters don’t like it when I do this, but it brings me back to earth again. I bring on the childhood joy. Beyond all these marvelous reasons for playing, it simply brings fun to your life. Play is a state of mind that is blissful and happy. It will change how you connect with people and how they connect with you.
The Higher Place
As humor, laughter, and play become a cohesive part of your life, your creativity will grow, and innovations for playing with friends, colleagues, and loved ones will occur daily. Your inventiveness will increase, too. Joking takes us to a higher place where you can see the world from a more relaxed, positive, creative, happy, and balanced perspective. Play is the learning path. Play stimulates our minds, helping us adapt and solve problems. Play brings curiosity, leading to creativity, discovery, and advancement.
Helping Your Relationship
When I have fun and play with my Tina, a bond develops that brings us close. Play is one of the best behaviors for keeping relationships alive and exciting. Playing with others for fun brings joy, energy, pleasure, and resilience to any relationship. Juggling and learning together are incredible highs. Play will also help heal pain, resentments, disagreements, and hurts. Through steady play, we learn to trust one another and feel safe. Trust enables us to work together better, discover new things about each other, and open us to intimacy. Love develops more and more.
Laugh Every Day
By consciously incorporating more humor, laughter, and play into your daily interactions with others, you will improve the quality of your connections with everyone. A joyous outlook is always good, from loving relationships to people you work with to people who pass by you on the street. This will bond people in the closest and best way. Humor and playful connection strengthen our relations by bringing positive feelings and emotional connection. When we joke around with one another, a positive relationship is created. You will find less stress, unhappiness, disagreements, and disappointment. I believe humor is the best way to connect with people. All animals, excluding man, know that the main object in life is to enjoy our time here on Earth.
Ask Questions
In my speaking programs, when I have a very young audience, the question and answer session at the end lasts a long time. There are fewer questions for a high school group, and it doesn’t take as long. For adults, there are hardly any questions at all from the audience. People tend not to ask questions because they don’t want to stand out. They also lose their curiosity and don’t care about learning new things. You didn’t worry about asking the wrong questions when you were young. You knew you couldn’t understand anything without asking questions, even if it was terrible. Also, you can get anything you want in life if you ask the right questions of the right people. So, open up, start learning all you can about everything – ask questions.
Limit TV
Television can bring us humor and teach us many things, but, often, watching TV is like being in a coma. Many people sit in front of the TV and let it babysit them. These people allow the TV to be their escape from the world. There are many ways that TV has helped to improve human life, but don’t be one who sits in front of it and lets it babysit you. Television is a powerful learning instrument that can enhance our lives if used for learning. TV has changed the world, but so many televisions are turned to mindless programs that are just time fillers and not educational. You are the one who chooses how you will spend your time in front of the tube. Many do not know the difference between reality and fantasy on television. Much has been gained from television, but you have a choice. Learn to use it to advance your life. Look for the humor that you can bring to your life.
Play at Work
Working as a juggler and entertainer, I was fortunate that I had to play and have fun. Work is where we spend much of our time. That is why it is especially beneficial for us to play during work. Without some recreation, our work suffers. Success at work doesn’t depend on how much time you spend working; it relies on the quality of your output. And the quality of your production is highly reliant on your state of mind and well-being. Revising yourself through play is one of the best things you can do for your career. When there are problems with a project you’re working on, heading out to juggle for a bit or to play some basketball and have a few laughs does a lot more than take your mind off the problem. Play will allow you to return to your work renewed with a new perspective and with new answers to problems.
Humor: A Good Thing
Humor helps build quality relationships at work. Workers who find the funny side of daily routines improve morale and increase team cooperation. Humor can even help turn around bad relationships. We see a different side of people and them of us. Laughter is contagious, and so is negativism—which would you prefer?
Play and Humor at Work:
Keeps you functional when under stress.
Refreshes your mind and body.
Changes your outlook so you can produce more.
Encourages teamwork.
Helps you see problems in new ways.
Enables you to be more spontaneous.
Triggers creativity and innovation.
It will make your work more productive and pleasurable.
Increases energy and prevents burnout.
Fosters creativity, flexibility, and learning.
You will get more accomplished.
Take the time
Taking time out from your work is not only a great way to decrease stress, but it can also limit the number of sick days taken and increase your output in your business. We spend a considerable part of our lives at our chosen work; seeing it as somewhere that play is forbidden may harm our health. So, if you are a boss or run a business, bring play and joy into your workplace, and you will find that everyone is more dynamic. Your employees will work better for you and be more productive.
Not So Serious – You Manager You
Many employees and managers are far too serious. Somewhere, these people have confused work with seriousness. They have put a lid on their natural sense of humor. Humans are spontaneous and spirited creatures by nature, yet the older and more mature we become, the less we think it is appropriate to use humor in our everyday lives. We watch comedians, paying others to provide what we have stifled in our personalities. Learn to laugh at yourself and life, leaving you in a much better mood.
They Must Play
Having your employees work longer and harder without incorporating fun, play, or relaxation into their schedule will only result in exhaustion. Take time to have some fun with your friends. Go outside for a stroll during your break, arrange an office activity occasionally, teach everyone in the company to juggle, or simply hold an office game or a lighthearted contest.
Play is only good
Incorporating play into your work schedule helps everyone through stressful circumstances, builds your team, and helps with problem-solving. It inspires creativity, increases energy levels, and refreshes your mind and body. As you see, play must be a part of the workday.
Develop Your Humor
Adding humor to your life can make it sparkle, and, if you are a performer, it can add just the proper emphasis to make your audience stand up, take notice, and want more. It can be that magic touch that will have you return to the same place many times. With a universal appeal, comedy is the highlight of many acts.
You are funny!
Sometimes, people tell me, “I can’t do comedy.” It’s not as complicated as many people think. Anyone can develop their ability to be funny, but it takes work. Comedy is not just about saying funny lines. It is you and the way you present the material. Don’t just make a random attempt at humor.
Lines for you
You Are Funny, Comedy Lines for You to Use:
Ever stop to think what a chair would look like if your knees bent the other way?
There are two great jugglers in this country, but that’s okay. There’s plenty of room for both of us.
I once ran away with a circus, but they caught up with me and made me give it back.
You may notice that my hands never leave my wrists while I do this.
Everybody now, not just the kids and the drunks.
For hecklers:
Your wits are too much for me; I never was very good with fractions.
On a scale of one to ten–you’re an idiot.
The fact that you can dress yourself in the morning amazes me.
It’s a shame that birth control isn’t retroactive.
If I wanted your advice, I’d squeeze your head.
Bring Back or Bring on Your Joy in Your Life
Have the sense
Having a sense of humor in and about life is essential for loving it. Humor will help relieve stress, enhance relationships, and extend your life. If you already have a sense of humor, grow it and use it as much as possible. Suppose you don’t, develop a humor-filled mind as soon as possible. Use your good humor to add to the excellent life you have created.
Open up
When I opened up and brought curiosity, fun, and play to the table,
I saw improvement and movement forward.
Make things better
Play enhances your creativity and resilience, emphasizing the importance of diversity—diversity in interactions, behaviors, and connections. All meaningful, organic, and foundational learning is fundamentally playful and ludic. Play is the primary method through which children are meant to learn.

WORDS TO INSPIRE YOU!
Inspirational quotes and sayings have a unique ability to change the way we feel about life and can change our thoughts. They are attractive, challenging, and essential on our path to joy and happiness and finding ways to inspire ourselves and others.
READ
Reading through the quotes below about life can do the trick if you’re looking for a pick-me-up or a healthy dose of motivation. Whether centered around positive affirmations, self-care, or success, life quotes can be powerful inspirational tools.
THE BURST!
Inspirational quotes and ideas give us a quick and timely burst of wisdom to regain our focus, offering the inspiration needed for the day or occasion. I hope the words below bring a smile to your face and drive you to make this day and every day a fantastic event.
BE POSITIVE!
Just as positive words can make someone smile and a well-timed, amusing quote can make someone laugh, your thoughts react to the world in real time. Have this control! You have complete control over only one thing in the universe—YOUR THINKING!—and that’s where motivational quotes come in!
“YOU”
Your quality of thinking and how you think and feel about yourself, including your beliefs and expectations about what is possible, determine everything in your life. Use quotes to move ahead in your life.
SELF-TALK IS SO ESSENTIAL—THINK RIGHT!
To stay motivated, you have to use each day as an opportunity to improve and get closer to your goals. It might sound like a lot of work—and with your busy schedule—next to impossible. But you can do it! Motivational words, yes, are just words. But they are positive words; they will keep you on track.
QUOTES
Motivational quotes affect our brain, behavior, and lives because they make us feel like we are in control of our success and have self-efficacy. Quotes make us believe that we have the confidence to complete a task successfully, which is different from having the motivation to succeed.
QUOTES WILL BENEFIT YOU!
Positive and inspiring quotes can be like sunshine on a cloudy day. They inject optimism into our thoughts, brighten our mood, and help us focus on the good in life. They remind us that even in the face of adversity, we can see the silver lining and embrace a positive attitude.
PEARLS OF WISDOM
In a world filled with challenges and indecisiveness, the power of inspirational quotes cannot be exaggerated. These pearls of wisdom uniquely uplift our spirits, can spark positive change, and fuel our motivation when we need it most.
WORDS WILL CHANGE YOU!
The correct motivational quote can change you and things—helping you ditch the excuses, escape your comfort zone, and take action. Read these words with an open mind and learn to improve your life.
THESE QUOTES
When you read these quotes, you’ll also realize that many other people worldwide are experiencing these feelings. These feelings make you think you’re the only person who could feel this bad. But you’re not. Lots and lots of other people feel bad, too. This is the irony of it. You don’t want other people to feel crappy, but it does make you feel better or at least comforted to know that other people feel just as bad as you.
READ CAREFULLY
These quotes can be used when you wake up or prepare for work.
You can write your favorite quotes somewhere where you can see them first thing in the morning.
These quotes are motivating, inspiring, and encouraging.
They will help you see your potential, stay motivated, and see the beauty in every morning.
Use them to your advantage!

MY DAILY JOTTINGS >>
Each week goes by so quickly, don’t you think?
It seems like time is going by faster and faster.
You must live joyfully, daily, for each day!
Do you know what you did last Monday?
Do you remember what you ate for dinner last Thursday?
Keep track of your doings for a few weeks; you will see your time differently.
Remember, the quality of your life depends on what you do each day- each moment!
3/8–Yes, I get tired throughout the day, but I continue. I’m still unsure how to get more sleep; perhaps I don’t need it.
There was not a lot going on today. I worked on the computer and also went for a walk. My leg does not hurt anymore; it is comfortable now.
I volunteered at the food place today. There were 20 of us there to work with Brussels sprouts. We were to cut the stem part off and remove the outer cover of the leaves. I did two to other people’s one; I was quick.
https://blessingsofhope.com/volunteer/
3/9–I heard from someone who says they want to make a movie of my story.
If produced, this would help many people worldwide live better lives.
https://voyagemedia.com/
I will keep you updated on the possibilities of this happening.
This gives me something to live for; I hope it comes to be.
Then, it was off to Costco and Walmart to pick up a few things.
Not too far away, that’s a good thing.
3/10–I’m off to get beer today. Not that I need it, but a beer now and then does well with my mind.
Thinking about my future, I don’t see anything. I did see something today, though. I had to go to the nearest 1st Citizens Bank, about 100 miles south. That is why I changed to a different bank; they were too far away.
I volunteered again today at https://blessingsofhope.com/volunteer/
Today, we worked with beans that were green (greenbeans) and took off both ends and filtered bad beans out.
I was careful while driving, but I was tired and had double vision now and then. When I was in the area, I would pass by to get gas. I first went inside to see what was being sampled and ate well. Then, I drove to the gas pumps to fill up. I could not find my credit card! I searched everywhere, but there was no card. This drove me crazy.
3/11–Jasmine came over to help with bank stuff this morning.
I have some wonderful daughters, I must say. Volunteering again today at https://blessingsofhope.com/volunteer/
Today, we worked with green (green beans) took off both ends and filtered bad beans out.
3/12–I volunteered again today at the food place.
3/13–Perhaps I wanted my van to croak? I didn’t even try starting the engine after the accident. Maybe I wanted things to start again? This would just be weird, though.
At https://blessingsofhope.com/volunteer/ , it was peaches today.
3/14–I look back at the accident and wonder if I was the one who wanted that to happen. I do like change, but come on now. Having to start a whole new life yet again, well, here I go.
THEN KEEP DOING NEW (DAILY) FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

I keep this section about gardening in.
I do like the skill and hope you do, too.
Winter is here now, but there are still things you can grow.
And remember about indoor gardening.
A self-supporting life can be a better life.
A garden would be a part of that life. —
You must look into it.
Because I am back on the road, there will be no more words about the garden.
I do hope Beth keeps it up.
We did a lot of work establishing our vegetable garden.
When I drove the van seven years ago,
I grew stuff under the sunroof windows on the top.
I may start that up in my van garden again.
You will find out, of course.
START YOUR GARDEN TODAY!
IT MAY BE NECESSARY FOR YOUR LIFE!
